Look at the regular season out-of-region records of Regions 1-3:

  • Region 1: 5-6
  • Region 2: 9-3
  • Region 3: 7-6
[/*]
Region 1 is DEFINITELY not the toughest region. It has 2 very good teams in Napoleon and EK, but it drops off significantly after that. Region 2's #3 seed, Wyndmere-Lidgerwood, has beaten Region 1's #3 seed, Oakes, twice now, once in the playoffs. After one week, Region 1 is 0-2 in the playoffs.

Region 2 is 2-1 in the playoffs.

Region 3 is 2-1 in the playoffs.

Region 4 has a losing record outside of it's region and is 1-2 in the playoffs.

I tried pulling together outside-of-region records for 5 & 6 but couldn't find complete results. Region 5 is 2-1 in the playoffs and Region 6 is 1-1.

Pure math tells you that Region 2 looks pretty good.

The only team from region 6 to play a non region game was hettinger who played lemmon SD in the beginning of the season.   I don't know about region 5 though.

Region 5 had nine teams in it originally so no one had non-region games scheduled. However, Trenton was unable to field a team for the first couple of weeks so I know that Williams County scheduled a last minute game with Williston's JV, which they won, and that's probably about it. Some other teams might have done the same but I don't think they did. So region 6 is something like .5 - 0 in non-region games.

I'd have to say region 4 just becuz of the talent i mean st.john made it to the semis and N/C/B was a good team and TGU was a very good at running the ball and lets not forget about Wells County and their athletic o-line and Dunseith and their up and coming team that will surprise teams next year.

Could you be more specific with that? I mean, they had a playoff team reach the quarters last year, and that is all. It's really hard to call it a talented region just by looking over last year, and the new players coming up, unless you see great improvement coming that no one else is right now.

You could call Region 4 the "Most Competitive Region"...but that's not necessarily a good thing

I agree 100% with Ocho Siete I follow region 4 and i believe that it is probably the most competitive region in my opinion but I strongly believe that it cannot compare to the top teams in region 2. I think that there are 1 or 2 teams that will be able to compete next year better with a little more experience
