Remember this name.....JD Schmidt from Maddock.  He's a freshmen this year.  Will be a someone people hear alot about next year as a sophomore and will be a standout RB his JR and SR year.  Another one from Maddock is Matt Knudson.  He's an 8th grader this and played a lot of varsity already.  Gonna be a big strong back in the future.  Give it two years and Maddock will have a great 1-2 punch in the backfield.

I have to agree with you, Schmidt and Knudson are tough. I was most impressed with Knudson, he sure doesn't run and cut like an ordinary 8th grader. He will be good. Will Maddock have a team in 2 years? Wherever these two gentlmen go, will have a very nice combo.

Hes one of them kids that has football as a tradition in his family.  Both of his brothers were 2 time all staters.  Hes had family members on both sides of his family play football at NDSU and other schools.  He is going to be a stud.

Amen, blue steel. Hillsboro's starting tailback went out in the first half against Hankinson and Zach, a sophmore, stepped in and the Hillsboro offense never skipped a beat. Don't know how many yards he had, but they were piling up by the end of the game.

Him and his brother had all the touchdowns for Hillsboro in that game...not sure on the yards for them but the Grothmann show was fun to watch!

These Kids are good but the team won't be because when Schmidt is a senior they will have 15 kids maby. They will be good but no one else will be.
keys to coaching
1) Surround yorself with people who can't live without football
2) Recognize winners. They come in all forms
3) Have a plan for everything

Well no kidding his speed makes him a good running back. Isn't that kind of a vital ability in order to be considered a good back? He also hits harder than any freshmen I've seen. He will be a force of both sides of the ball. As for the other kids post, Maddock is cooping with Leeds after this next season so there will be plenty of kids on the team. They might even end up being 11man.

He knocked 3-4 kids out of the game from injuries from a hit this year. Broke a kids arm when he flattened him on a block

Just because you knock someone out of a game becasue they get injured, doesn't mean you get hit hard. Some injuries can happen when your just running, or if you land weird on an arm, or something freakish like that. So just becasue some kids left the game because of injury, doesn't mean he hit them so hard that they got hurt from it.

Well if he's consistantly hurting kids, it's hard to say he's running weak...or there's a suspiciously weird amount of bad-tackling induced injuries

I think Michael White from Berthold is a promiseing back. He gained over a 1,000 yrds and was named to the all confrence as a sophore . He is strong and runs hard.
