This came out on NDHSAA today. 8 Regions with 5 teams per region. Looks like same play-off format as this year.

I thought it was interesting that North Border moved back up after 1 year in 6man and that Midway-Minto is also moving back up to 9man.

Made this real quick

Really hope the sister region thing isn't a thing. SJ for example being forced to play Divide county, tioga, and alexander instead of North Prairie, North Star or Benson County would be dumb.

I do like that is 8 regions with the same number of teams. As long as nobody quits when the season starts and a region has 3 teams.

*I see one mistake on my map, I forgot to change Richland, nd to Colfax, nd*

Instead of having partner regions for scheduling, why not just combine regions to have four regions with 10 teams apiece? You have a 9-game regular season with every game being a regional match-up and then the top 4 teams per region qualify for playoffs. A 16-team playoff field can be done in 4 weeks. It would be one extra game in the regular season and one less week of playoffs compared to the current schedule, so it would be the exact same length of season that we have now or that is proposed for next year.

Plus this way, if a team did have to fold their season, it still not cool for teams losing games, but at least you don't have a region where everyone qualifies for playoffs automatically. You very likely have everyone in the playoffs with a 6-3 or 5-4 record at the very least.

It looks like the sister region is only for 2 weeks and the other 2 weeks they can play anyone that they want to.

Never liked the 10 teams regions in 2011-2014ish. Had no option in where or who you played. Was always somebody mad. Divide Co playing in the southwest. SJ had to go play New Town Divide Co etc. I like with the 8 Regions there is a first round bye if you win your region.

No issues with 8 regions as long as the regions are somewhat balanced...5 or 6 teams is perfect IMO...any less and it's pointless to call it a 'region'

yeah figured it was only for a year with some coop dissolutions that didn't make the timing for this year plus the addition of WF Horace...plus there were listings of opportunities to opt up or down listed with last year's plans.

I believe that the plan going forward is that there could be movement every year. The days of the "2-year Plan" is kind of over... for now.
