LaMoure will likely be #1 in the polls all year for 9 man. They have a very good QB and a lot of returning talent, especially with TE Ness who is one of the top FB players at any level in the state. They will be very tough to compete with until maybe the last 2 weeks of the year.

It'll be interesting to see if Cavalier continues to keep their dominance in the Region - they barely beat MV-Enderlin who are expected to be middle to bottom of the pack in R1. Time will tell, but I don't believe R2 is a gimme anymore.

Jacobson from FSHP & Arth from W-L are two RB's to watch and they both have some size & speed. I believe both are Jr.'s.

Matchup of Week 2 will be Hankinson vs. May-Port C/G. The Pirates are much stronger & better than last year, and they spread things around with very good talent at the QB, RB, & WR skill positions. And, they quietly have one of the best defensive players in the state in Jr. Ruston Kath.

Good luck to all teams and let's hope everyone stays away from any injuries this season.

These regions split 3-3 last week, but Region 2 went 5-1 this week and is now 8-4 vs. Region 1 through 2 weeks.

Take-aways:
LaMoure looks as good as advertised winning 2 games by a combined 150-0 score. With that said, I do think they have played two of the lesser teams out of Region 2, but that's not their fault so you can't take anything away from them.

FSHP is a surprise 2-0 right now. They look to have a solid backfield. This is a team that was in the state semi-finals just two years ago. They obviously have kids on this team that know how to win games.

Cavalier and Wyndmere/Lidgerwood was a great hame last week. Everything a game between two top-5 teams should be. I think it's safe to say that Cavalier's slow week 1 start probably had a lot to do with the weather (2-3 inches of rain during the game). Both of these teams have tremendous running backs in Andrew Arth (WL) and Jacob Steele (CAV).

Congrats to Larimore for posting a "W" and ending a very long losing streak.

How can you tell if a team is good, there are some really bad teams, has to do with numbers mostly

If you've seen them play it isn't that difficult to see who the good teams are. If you haven't watched any games it may take a few weeks to compare scores to figure out who the good teams are.
