Come on coaches, I’ve watched a lot of football and know some people are ahead of others. Now, I agree with the list of players that made it, but think some people should be flipped. Ratchenski easily did a better job than jollie when it comes to quarterback... ratchenski’s team, cavalier, took 2nd in state. He was easily one of their leaders along with urlab and carrier. Xavier Mitchell, junior from north prairie scored 30 TD’s and about 2000 all purpose yards, which is insane. He had very little help from his team and still led them to win games, this is ridiculous, because when it comes to all state running backs everyone is quick to think ihry, which I agree the dude is insane, but Mitchell plays in the toughest region in state, with Cavalier, New rockford, Saint John, etc. and still put up amazing numbers... how did he not make first team? He belongs up there next to ihry considering he matched his stats with 3 less games than him.

Per Grand Forks Herald: Sammy Satrom, running back: The senior was a big-play threat in the backfield. He rushed 131 times for 1,246 yards, averaging 9.5 yards per carry. He had 18 rushing touchdowns. Come on, named first team running back, on a team that did not make it far in playoffs, but only had 18 touchdowns... this is a FIRST TEAM ALL STATE player? Come on coaches, this is ridiculous. Guessing he got it due to being a senior.

Stats don't always tell the entire story...not sure about this case in particular but just something to keep in mind...

It's also not just Offense and Defense looked at...it's stats as a whole by the coaches. What were his defensive stats?? Was his team balanced where he didn't have to do EVERYTHING?? There is always more to it then what the newspapers puts in as stats.

In the end, they are all ALL-STATE ATHLETES...the team designation really doesn't matter at that point. If you are ALL-STATE then you are elite in the State. It would be another thing if a player had unreal stats and didn't receive the honor.
