NR-S and Tri-State will be extremely high scoring. It also potentially could be a fun game if Tri-State clicks offensively. They have some freak athletes and a nice quarterback, but will have to be clicking on all cylinders to compete with the Rockets.

NRS will win by 30+, I think Mayport-St.john has makings of a shootout. Don't sleep on North Prairie FSHP. Cougars could surprise. Kidder County would be my dark horse pick in the bottom bracket. Anyone know they status of some of the injured players, especially Linton Qb. Hopefully no major injuries this weekend to the competing athletes.

My comments were about today’s games, as I said “this week” in my post. I totally missed the MPCG game. I new Saint John would put up points against them, but thought the Patriots would score also.

I would slightly favor NRS next week. The loss of Jacobsen will really hurt this week. Not only was he a standout on defense, I think he was the second best runner in region 1 this year. That is pretty good as Ihry isn’t just the best runner in 9 man, but likely the best in the state regardless of class. I think NRS has better depth and will be able to key on Ihry. The worse the weather, the better the Spartans will fare next week. Nine man teams rarely play great pass defense. I think NRS is a much more capable passing team than than FSHP.

Honestly, I'm thinking rematch between NRS and Cavalier for state title, unless NRS runs into some bad weather or sub-par field conditions. I just don't see any one stopping the Rocket offense in good weather, but who knows, that's why they play.

Injuries could play a big part through the rest of the playoffs and Cavalier may have some kids out. Urlaub may have a separated shoulder. They also had a lineman that has barely walking after the last game.
