I think the only teams that can go "Offense is good Defense" is Thompson & NSGU...I don't see New Rockford or Shiloh hanging with them at all.........the other 2 games will be more Bang Bang....with Nap and St. John winning.........
In hopes, you want solid reffing and let the Players determine the results!... :)

I think Thompson will be a little too much for New Rockford-Sheyenne at home, if NRS was at home I might pick them. I think if they can contain Schwabe, they have a decent chance. I think there will be alot of points scored. I think Napoleon beats Oakes in a lower scoring affair. Fettig and Weigel two best players on the field, Fettig can make alot of big plays out of nothing. New Salem-Glen Ullin I believe is the best team, don't know if they will get one of the playmakers back. Plenty of bad blood between them and Shiloh. If they can contain Faagerland, they will win comfortably. It is hard to beat a good team 2X though, aka Napoleon/Oakes. They are very familiar with each other, just think Holsteins have too many weapons. St. John vs Ray Powers Lake I will take the home team on a whim. Know nothing about them, St. John is very good option team and has a bulldozer in Defender and are big and physical but very susceptible to the pass, supposed to be a nice day. Hoping no major injuries and may the best teams win without any officiating controversy. LOL

The one thing with Nap/GS, is I would say they are coming off of their most physical game of the year and not sure of injuries but don't know if they had been held scoreless second half all season...

Wind is suppose to blow 40 Saturday afternoon. It's gonna tighten up the shiloh new salem game a bit. But with holsteins running game and a 240 pound QB they should still win by a couple scores. Go holsteins!

Haven't seen a forecast for 40mph...10-20 mph winds with gusts to 25mph...still a factor but not 40. Eastern half of the state looks like less wind.

Weather Channel isn't very reliable...more 'care' to the more populated areas (IMO...I went to meteorology school...trust the National Weather Service - much more reliable; and there is one in Bismarck).

https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.p ... 9N0t-nQaM8

Looks like the wind will be that strong but not until the overnight hours...so well after an afternoon football game. Still going to be somewhat windy so, yes, a running game will benefit more.

Published from the National Weather Service in Bismarck as of 2:16 p.m. Friday October 26th. Northwest winds increase to 25-45 mph. During the afternoon and the gusty winds continue Saturday night across the east. Now I think the rain will play more of a factor. Depending when the rain starts but according to the forecast best chance is north.

Semi-Final Predictions

Oakes @ Thompson Oakes is on roll but this game will be really close. Thompson 36-30

Ray-Powers Lake @ New Salem-GU The Holsteins will punch their ticket to the Dakota Bowl. Holsteins 42-20.

I see two blowouts on Saturday. Thompson by 40. New Salem by 50. If either team was going to get beat before the dome it would’ve been on Saturday. Maybe Napoleon could’ve gave Thompson a game in the semis but we’ll never know.

Like I said last week, I would've been more surprised to see St. John win than NR/S and looking at the games that's exactly how they played out. I think Oakes will give Thompson all they can handle, but I think Thompson hangs on at home 28-26. NSGU is rolling over ppl and I do not see that ending this weekend 56-24.

NR/S...had one bad snap that hurt them Bad, possibly the game changer
QB had 240 yds passing
Belquist 9 catches 140 yds

team isn't as rounded as Thompson but they had some studs at 3-4 positions
all Old names from the town area

hats off to all the teams, we all know the reality
one by one they fall!

This New Salem team is unreal talented. I would not be surprised if they end the Wests championship drought in blowout fashion.

I agree with sniper. Was at the last 4 games and coach k has these kids in the zone. Kids are still hammering when they got big leads. I really think they are gonna do it. We'll see I guess. Go holsteins

G21: 3-2 (RV) Oakes (10-1) @ 1-1 (1) Thompson (10-0)

Oakes is a young team that has played extremely well this season. They are pretty rounded and have a ton of success in their future (there are a lot of similarities between them and Langdon in the future). They will be my favorite to win Region 1 in Single A next year when they move up. Thompson is a really solid program that has had consistent success for a really long time, which regardless of class is very hard to do. That coaching staff is incredible and the players have really bought into what Thompson has going on there. I will take Thompson's seniors to find a way in what might be the game of the year. I think this comes down to who gets the final stop and who has the ball last. I will take Thompson by a score of 34 to 32.

G22: 6-1 (5) Ray/Powers Lake (10-0) @ 5-1 (2) New Salem-Glen Ullin (10-0)

I hope I'm wrong here but I think New Salem rolls and I don't know if this is a very competitive game by the end. Ray is a very good team but New Salem is loaded. I will take New Salem to make the Dakota Bowl by a score of 40 to 24.

Think you are pretty spot on. Will add this:

Oakes vs. Thompson - Oakes will have to try to wear Thompson down over the course of the game with their line size. Think Thompson's edge speed will be too much. 38 - 24

Ray-Powers Lake vs. NS-GU - R-PL had the team size (D-line) to hold St. John option in check. Unfortunately, don't think they have the offense to keep up with NS-GU. They will have to have long, sustained drives to keep the ball away from explosive NS-GU offense. Hope I'm wrong and it's a close game, but don't think it will be. 46-12.

I'm curious as to what matchup people think would be the most interesting/competitive in the Dakota Bowl? I think that New Salem vs. Thompson gives us a game with a ton of talent on the field. I think that game would be my preferred matchup because it show cases as many of the top players in the state as what is possible with the last 4 teams. Oakes makes for a better storyline than Thompson though. They haven't been to a championship in quite some time, they are young so they have names we will become familiar with over the next 3 years, and I think they become the front-runner of region 1 next year when the move to single A so this would expose the 11 man fans to them. I know Thompson moves up next year but they aren't going to be the top dog in that region with Langdon there.

Both Thompson and New Salem lose the farm after this year. Thompson won't be down too long because of numbers but you don't replace the skill players that have been starting for 3 years and just plug somebody else in there and get the same results. I agree with your predictions. If it is a crappy day and field, I would give Oakes a fighting chance but nice day and field, I don't think they have the speed to stay with Thompson. I think NSGU will win in a blowout and the championship game will be in the high 30s for both.

Wind will be less than 10 mph and temp at 40 degrees and cloudy (no rain) according to forecast....so its changed a bit because some were thinking rain and or snow......it isn't Ironic that the 2 left in the east are both moving to 11 man next season, obviously there are nice enrollment numbers with both schools...Not sure what is sparking Oaks demographics? .......I agree with the fact there is good talent on Thompsons team but its always nice to have enough on the roster to give a guy a blow in a game if needed and their Coaching staff is stacked too. I know getting Satch Carpenter down there has added a big time football mind to the program....New Rockford showed a "ton of talent" too... the Ball just didn't bounce there way.......I don't know anything about Oaks but they said the last time they were in the semi's was 1983 and Phil Hanson was a 7th grader? ......I got to do some hunting on their land in the late 90's and met his brother Steve, some really good guys! ........can Thompson beat the "Tornadoes" 2 times in 1 year?... :)
