LaMoure LM vs Napoleon GS

This looked like maybe a Game of the Week for Week 2; may now be a blowout for Lamoure LM? They handled the defending state champions well! I know it wasn't exactly the same team; but the cupboard wasn't completely bare either.

How long are the 2 defensive starters out for NGS? With LLM this week and other tough region games ahead it could be a long year for NGS.
I give FSHP credit; sounds like they played well! But as the old saying goes you should handle your business when your supposed to.
2 starters out is huge especially in 9 man. We'll see if their coaches work out the "kinks"?
Alot I would think it depends on the availability of the missing players to return; which looks like they definitely missed them! This game has even more at stake then it did before! Will see if NGS can bounce back?

Napoleon/GS will be just fine this week. Game may be closer then originally expected but NGS will pull away late.

I would be shocked in LaMoure wins, I can't see any way they could blow NGS out.

To say that LaMoure "handled the defending state champions well" and "I know it wasn't exactly the same team" is a joke. W/L lost 16 of their 18 starters off last years team. And they didn't have a deep bench last year.

To me the biggest surprise of week 1 was Oakes handling Hankinson. Oakes winning the game was not a shocker, but the final score was not something that I expected.

I don't see anyway that Lamoure wins in a blowout. Napoleon is still one of the better teams in the state. One game doesn't define a season. Napoleon wins by 2 scores in close game but gets a late one to seal it.

I reviewed my notes and I apologize for thinking W/L had more starters coming back. Coach McCleary normally makes good adjustments after games like this. All I'm saying is 2 starters out in 9 man is more significant than in the bigger schools typically.

Just 1 injury (Jamison Fettig) can have a huge effect like with NGS last yr in Quarterfinals at Cavalier! Now its 2 players out. While yes this 1 game; if the loss of 2 starters is long term the effects could be more. Haven't heard as of now how long these 2 players will be out?

I don't know where the two starter thing missing came from, but there was not two starters missing. Last weeks game was maybe a little wake up call for Napoleon. There is no give me games in football. I suspect they will be a little better prepared this week.

That came from a post from "birthday" under the topic "2018 Schedule Week 1&2. It said NGS was missing 2 defensive starters; that's where it came from.
So a few people have been asking since then.....

Ya. I saw that post. That was some miss information. They had all their starters. Just had some mistakes and missed assignments. They have a fairly tough region. Not sure if there will be many blowouts. Still have to have blocking and correct execution of plays. Barring any injuries they should have a good season. Lots of good talent on that team.

I got that from 1 of the coaches at the game that Napoleon was missing 2 starters on defense but they are not returning starters

LLM is a good team big upfront NGS struggled to run so they went to the pass game and won the game. Two good teams

I think some consideration should be put towards FHSP. If Napoleon still deserves a ranking tho. Nothing against NGS but I just don’t think they make a top 10 list this year much less top 5

FSHP first three games might not reflect the strength of their team. FSHP vs Thompson may not be game of the week but if projected numbers 4 and 5 struggled against them then I thi think it’s significant how they do against number 1.
