which one do you think is a long shot, Hankinson/NGS?

No it "wouldn't" maybe simply bias

Except Flip is from Region 2 country!

Not in football with 9 men....

Region 2 country (you see "country" widens the spectrum) nine-man Football? "Except" Region 1 runs due North of some Region 2 schools, and changed from last year for some schools.... and one has to be associated with a school?.....I appreciate the spokesperson take also,
although if not Bias (which I will stick with) then simply sports knowledge? you ask him then tell me :)

W-L is heavy favorite - I agree
I think Hankinson has a good chance to beat NGS
MPCG is the long shot at Nelson County (just not sure they have quite enough...but I've been wrong before)
Thompson/Cavalier is going to be one heck of a game again!

I watched Linton-HMB vs MPCG game today and was impressed with MPCG. They got the big plays they needed early and held LHMB out of the end zone for over three quarters. Turned out to be a great game. Linton scored with just under 4:00 left to cut it to 22-16, but MPCG was able to run out the rest of the clock. They had Linton scouted pretty well defensively, although I believe Linton would have scored again if they would have got the ball back. Linton was in MPCG territory on all but one possession in the game, and was intercepted twice inside the 10. Overall, Linton had 4 turnovers and I believe that was the difference in the game. Hats off to MPCG and to those who predicted the upset (I seen at least a couple). I never seen them play before, but they are certainly NOT your typical fourth seed. With that said, I have no idea what Nelson County is like, so no prediction here. Good luck to the remaining teams in the playoffs at all four levels.

Common opponents: Hatton-Northwood and Larimore
Nelson County lost too HN 38-36 and beat Larimore 20-0.
MPCG beat HN 58-44 and beat Larimore 39-6.

Overall I think there will be some very close games. I learned my lesson picking against MPCG by a large margin last week. Honestly I could see most of these games going the other way with the exception of W/L and NSGU. I think those two teams will win convincingly.

*WL should roll em.
*Is Satrom out for MPCG? If so, it'll be closer than I'd otherwise predict, but I think they can still pull it off.
*I think Hankinson holds the experience card and I'll give them the nod in a toss-up.
*With a lot of position/ personnel changes since their first meeting to kick off the season, I think Thompson plays hungry and stops Urlaub & Co.

WL will roll in a big way.
MPCG will get the W by a couple scores.
Hankinson in a hard fought game.
I feel that Cavalier is the better team. That being said, I believe Thompson will have the advantage having lost the season opener. I just think it will give them that little extra, which will likely be enough in a closely matched game.

G17: R1 #4 May-Port-CG (5-4) @ R1 #1 (2) Wyndmere-Lidgerwood (9-0)
W-L will pull away big in this matchup: 46-22

G18: R3 #1 (5) Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter (9-0) @ R2 #1 (1) Cavalier (9-0)
Cavalier rolls through Napoleon/GS: 44-14

G19: R5 #3 Beach (8-2) @ R5 #2 (RV) Shiloh Christian (9-1)
I'm going to take the upset pick here...Beach gave them a great game during season: Beach 24-22

NP couldn't slow down M-R/NE; NS-GU had no issues doing that during season: NS-GU 54-32

Wyndmere-Lidgerwood 38 May-Port-CG 20
W-L is clearly strong; but could be closer since MPCG is playing MUCH better than in the regular season!

Napoleon-GS 34 Cavalier 33
My 1st upset pick! Cavalier is good; but I believe Nap-GS has a chance! If the Tornadoes roll early then yes it'll be by 30+. If the Imperials hang around and stay within striking distance later into the game; then the chances for the upset go up greatly!

Beach 24 Shiloh Christian 22
My 2nd upset pick this weekend! Shiloh only won by 6 in the regular season and this time Beach wins and pulls the smaller upset.

New Salem Glen Ullin 42 North Prairie 31
Think this one will be a shootout with NP ahead early with New Salem GU taking control in the 2nd half to win by 11. No upset here!

I think WL by 24, Cavalier by 20, Shiloh by 12, New Salem-Glen Ullin by 14, Shiloh by 12 with Beach being the best chance of upset. The other favorites I think have too much speed for their opponents. Good luck to all and hope for an injury free quarterfinals. I do believe whoever comes out of the east should be the overall favorite in the Dakota Bowl.

G17: R1 #4 May-Port-CG (5-4) @ R1 #1 (2) Wyndmere-Lidgerwood (9-0)
I dont think this will be much of match up-- but May-Port is hot right could be a good game but Wyndmere in the cold I think favors the WARBIRDS! 66-28

G18: R3 #1 (5) Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter (9-0) @ R2 #1 (1) Cavalier (9-0)-- the tornadoes roll into the semis on fire-- 54-20.

G19: R5 #3 Beach (8-2) @ R5 #2 (RV) Shiloh Christian (9-1)---Upset city I think the Bucs got there number and have them figured out will be a close game. 42-36

G20: R4 #1 (RV) North Prairie (9-1) @ R5 #1 (3) New Salem-Glen Ullin (9-0)--- being it is at NSGU -- I will take them as it is a tough outfit to play in- snow might be a factor. That being said I thought both of these teams are explosive and will definitely be a shootout to the very end. 58-52- NSGU

here are my predictions
W-L will win big.... mayport has had a great season, but Cinderella’s dance is over
Cavalier big... tornadoes use last years lost as motivation and run away with it early
New Salem... think this will be a good game. Team that wins the TO battle wins
Beach... toughest to pick, but having played Shiloh close once gives the bucs the confidence they need to win.

Regardless of what happens, all the remaining teams deserve recognition on a great season and good luck to all teams.
