All-State Predictions

Postby cmplx6 » Fri Nov 04, 2016 1:38 pm

So with the final 3 games of the season happening in the next 7 days, who are some players from each region that you think should make the All-State team?

So I guess I will start it off. Now I could be completely off on this.

Offense
QB: Hunter Rodin-Kenmare
QB: Nick Pfaff-Shiloh
RB: Jake Ihland-Richland
RB: Brandon Schroeder-New Salem
RB: Adam Diedrich-Thompson
RB: Talon Thompson-Mohall
WR: Kolton Jesz-Kenmare
OL: Logan Webber-Thompson
OL: Tucker Boucher-North Prairie
OL: Charlie Moffet-Wyndmere
OL: Nathan Wolf-New Salem
TE: Cody Mauch-Hankinson

Defense
DL: Berkley Santos-Mohall
DL: Bart Ogbu-Shiloh
DL: Baily Morman-New Salem
LB: Garrett Munro-North Prairie
LB: Alix Wisnewski-Wyndmere
LB: Dalten Jangula-Napoleon
DB: Calen Schwabe-Thompson
DB: Brody Cahill-North Prairie
DB: Kolter Schell-TGU

Thoughts? I think there are a few locks for 1st team. Brody Cahill, Berkley Santos, Cody Mauch, Calen Schwabe, Hunter Rodin, and Jake Ihland. Could make an argument that Jesz and Diedrich are locks as well. Don't know who the region players of the year were, but Calen Schwabe is the best player in the state.

Calen Schwabe is very good, but Cody Mauch is the best 9 man player in the state. Calen could play small college football if he would like to. Cody will have the opportunity to be a division 1 college player.

I didn't watch much football outside of Region 5 this year, but I would assume that Isaiah Kludt will be a first team all state running back.

I question you putting Nick Pfaff at qb. I have watched Shiloh the past two weeks and didn't notice anything special out of him. I liked their back #32 much more than their qb. Why wouldn't you put Calen Schwabe at qb. I think you will see today that he is a much better qb than Pfaff.

I hope it is a good game but I'm not counting on it.

Well Schwabe was All State DB as a SO and JR, so figured he would be 1st team as a SR.. Pfaff is a pretty complete QB and when a I watched him play he looked pretty good. Pretty hard to make too many predictions as very few coaches put stats online. #32 for Shiloh is a good back too.

I definitely think Urlaub from Cavalier deserves to be on the list.

Nothing against Calen Schwabe, but Diedrich is the best player on Thompson hands down. Schwabe definitely deserves to make it as a DB, not QB. They have an embarassment of riches and could probably win state minus one of them. Just curious if there have been any commitments for "FB for college and where they are going.

100% agree... There is nobody better in ND 9 man this year. Cody Mauch might be the best TE and the best DE at any level in ND, and he led the best 9 man Defensive team in the state.

Other all-state mentions that I'd have on the list:

Race Kath - Hankinson. A tackling machine and only a Jr. He'll be the leader for the Pirates D next season.
Alex Wisniewski, Luke Foertsch, Charlie Moffett - Wyndmere/Lidgerwood
Carter Brown - North Border
Adam Diedrich, Calen Schwabe - Thompson
Isaiah Kludt - Hettinger
Jake Ihland - Richland

So who would you pull off my list? I have everyone but Isaiah Kludt, Race Kath, Luke Foertsch and Carter Brown. I'm just talking about 1st team selections. There will be a ton of honorable mentions, but there can only be 21 1st team selections, 9 offense, 9 defense, and 3 at large.

I'm not sure how many people actually saw Hettinger-Scranton play this season, but you would have a tough time convincing me that there were a couple (if any) running backs better than Isaiah Kludt.

I have no idea who the best RBs are, but most teams put their best player at RB so you're always going to have some good players that don't get selected for all state.

I completely agree that Isaiah is a first team RB. I think him and diedrich are the two best I've seen this year.
