I may be wrong but I think he is poking fun at howie, heimer, and Honkie for their perceived attitude that private schools have such an incredible advantage that no one else can compete. I may be wrong.

I understand their point clearly, I'm just curious as to what they think it will take to beat a SC year in and year out or does the day (year) come where they win 3 or 4 in a row....I know when other schools have won consecutive titles I would say coaching and conditioning and tradition plays into it as much as the talent on the field.....

Private Schools All Time record/winning percentage (Thanks to Caserace!)

Bismarck St. Mary's- 252-163/ .607
Shiloh 60-44/.577 (if we take out the first 4 years when they won 1 total game) 59-22/.728
Trinity 209-145/.590
Oak Grove 77-75/ .507
Shanley 244-177/.580
Bishop Ryan 172-122/ .586

I didn't include Trinity Christian, they have been in a co-op with Trenton. They've never had success in football and I don't think many people consider them a dominant private school (they did have some good boys basketball teams for a stretch in the 2000's)

I am not against Private Schools, if people wish to send/can afford to send their children to a private school that is absolutely their right.
I don't have a problem with the classifications of Fargo Shanley and Bismarck St Mary's, they play AA football and A for all other sports.
Fargo Oak Grove has had a lot of success in boys basketball over the years, it doesn't seem to me like they dominate other sports. This probably has something to do with them being in a region with a lot of "bigger than average" class B schools.

Minot Bishop Ryan was once a very very large Class B school not that many years ago, their enrollment has been declining. They haven't seemed to dominate much in the past 15 years (their girls basketball team had a once in a lifetime team that won 3 straight), they are in a region with some bigger schools, not as many as Oak Grove, but schools around them draw kids from the Minot metro area/oil influx which has probably helped balance the power.

Dickinson Trinity has absolutely dominated Region 7 in Boys Basketball for the past 15 years (I think they've finished worse than 2nd twice in that time). Their girls volleyball and basketball teams are always in the top 4 of the region. Their football team has missed the playoffs 5 times since 1991. With the exception of Beulah, Hazen and the Co-op of Heart River they don't have to play large schools in sports other than football. I have zero problem with their football classification.

Bismarck Shiloh Christian has absolutely dominated their region in Boys Basketball for a very long time, girls basketball in the past 12 years and Volleyball has been near the top for a long time. Their football team has dominated since their first 4 years (building a program from scratch will have a ton of growing pains). They have multi million dollar facilities and can draw from the Bismarck Mandan area.

You may disagree with my stance on classifications, I don't care. You can say that they just have better coaches, could very well be. Please don't try to insult my intelligence by telling me they are just like every other school. Please don't try to make me sound crazy for saying they have advantages (compared to class B schools). And please don't tell me that there isn't any recruiting that goes on in Private Schools, it might not happen every year and in every school, but it happens.

good post and I understand it all...no insults

I actually think even a Thompson or Cass (northern or central) School benefit from being close to a City and lets say Big City in terms of ND and like you said some of the others near Minot etc etc

Thompson has the Schwabe's they used to live in Langdon just think how Langdon would have looked this year with them still there.....

I think of Cavalier in the days of Coach Oksendahl (now at shanley) 48 game win streak three titles playing up in AA against the bigs with not near the enrollment of some of their opponents...chalk to tradition and dedication (football town)

but I definitely get the fact that if a program can surface as fast as SC's has than it did definitely take the location to do it.....then of course Coaching, conditioning and all the variables follow suit..

Anyone who thinks Shiloh doesn't have an advantage being a class-b school in a town the size of Bismarck is just kidding themselves. Why they didn't opt up to 11-man is beyond me. Obviously I think they could compete up there. Minot Ryan opts up and they have half the kids that Shiloh does. What if they go to state the next 10 yrs in a row. Will that be what puts it over. Although I think in two years, they will have to go up based on enrollment.

Physical game with a lot of big plays.

Thompson 44
NSGU 30

Great run for NSGU, but I think this is where missing one of their talented backs will catch up with them. Thompson is too good of a team to lose to a team missing one of their impact players.

I'm going with the Holsteins in a close one. Thompson is too high on themselves, which will make them come out of the gates a little slow.

So if SC was totally dominated by Thompson than what word or words would describe NSGU game yesterday. I believe the words I have read throughtout everyone's documentaries this season are... NSGU was not physical enough, not enough talent, probably should open-enrolled some strong boys from anywhere across the state as you can. Congratulations to Thompson for a very a terrific season!
Very disappointed in the game plan of NSGU's you cannot allow Schwabe to run around the end. He was just way to quick. I believe the The Bowl game happened the Week before at Miller Field. Both teams agreed that was a game.
