Playoff Week 3 picks:

Thompson - very impressive win last week, I expect another 3-4 TD victory.
Hankinson - The Pirates have what it takes, especially on Defense. Shiloh will be a tough test with their impressive run game. If Hankinson expects to win & advance in the playoffs, they need to use their star players much more and be better in goal-line situations.
North Prairie - expect a high scoring game.
New Salem Glen Ullin - IMO, they are more battle-tested than St. John

Thompson
Hankinson
North Prairie
New Salem

I expect all games to be single digit wins. At the very least two scores. No blowouts this week.

I could see any of the 8 teams winning this weekend:

Thompson/Napoleon GS- I think Thompson is probably the best team in the state, but Napoleon has the tradition on their side (only one town wears the crown). This will be a closer game then people expect. Thompson by 8

Shiloh/Hankinson- Shiloh had a closer game last week then most expected, Hankinson has the only loss in this matchup (way back in week 1). I'll take Shiloh by 6

Kenmare B BC/North Prairie- Kenmare like to chuck the rock, North Prairie has been pretty dominant. If the weather is good I'd expect a shootout. I'll take NP by 18

St. John/New Salem GU- St. John shocked me last week with the victory on the road. I really like NSGU team this year. I think this will be a battle in the trenches. Upset special- St. John by 6

Thompson really hasn't been tested this year. I'll take Thompson over NGS 32-20

WL was on an end season roll and tested Shiloh but I don't think hankinson is rolling that hard. I'll take Shiloh 36-12

Kenmare vs NP. Just a hunch but I'll take NP 48-36

NSGU is rolling and will roll right by St John 48-14

Napoleon will put up a good fight but thompson comes out on top by 3scores.
Hankinson is a quality team with a lot playmakers. Shiloh doesn't have enough playmakers to stop them. Hankinson wins this by 3-4 scores.
North prairie wins this by 2 scores or more.
St.john in a close game. Their options proves to much for new salem. They win By a score

If Napoleon wasn't down three starters they take state hands down and not even a close second

So Kenmare was 1 play away from beating Napoleon when they had all of their starters. And from what I understand Kenmare was down a couple of starters when they played Napoleon. So where do you see them? Shiloh beat Napoleon, where they down then? Is Thompson just a fluke? I mean if Napoleon at 100% is that good where are some of these other teams?

Kenmare was Napoleon's first game, Kenmare is big and could be one of the better teams - it was a good game each teams first NGS has come a long way since and I am sure so has Kenmare - I think they pass too much given their size. Physically NGS beat Shiloh but they had five turnovers and some horrible calls - but Shiloh is for real they are well coached and physical - Kenmare and Shiloh could be a good game if it comes. I watched the Cavalier/Thompson game I think Shiloh is better than both. The front lines of Thompson seem very solid - Cavalier had a tough time with Thompson's defensive front, however it was a rainy night and the Tornadoes fumbled about 4 times I believe - doubt it would happen again. I was surprised Napoleon beat Cavalier without those three - two of the starters are two of the bigger stronger kids they have and the other is an athletic kid that does a lot on both sides of the ball. I think Shiloh takes the crown this year.

Highly doubt it. Hankinson will not blowout Shiloh. If anything it will be the other way around.

Thompson by 2 scores
Shiloh by 2 Scores
Kenmare by 1 score
NGSU in a blowout

Ok I probably got a little carried away with the 3-4 scores but from what I hear Hankinson is tough defensively and it appears that if Shiloh can't score a lot they probably can't win. I will stick with Hankinson by 2 scores

I was talking to a guy from Napoleon when I was up there and he said SC was real tough when they played them (think nap was full staffed then too) he didn't think that Nap could beat them on a good day is what he had said but that was his opinion.....I thought Nap had a lot of grit and executed quite well....Cav had a touchdown pulled back and lost many yards to the yellow flag (12 flags to naps 2, which I actually think was a bit lop sided in retrospect)
but the game goes on.............I will honestly say that on Saturday I hope the Officiating is top caliber and I wish all the teams good luck and straight up play!.....

I'm thinking all the games will be good. Weather won't be as good as last weekend but sounds still OK. This time of year teams kind of weed themselves out. Hoping the kids settle it on the field. Good luck to them all. My guesses are Thompson, Hankinson, North Prarie, Glen Ullin. Don't think anyone wins by more than 16. Lots of variables this time of year. Teams can completely change from earlier in the year. No time for excuses, win or go home.

My Thoughts

Thompson - 2 scores
Shiloh - close and lower scoring than last week...cheering for Hankinson though
North Prairie - HIGH scoring...easily could have 100+ points on the board
NS-GU - 1 score game...both teams could be over 40 points

Thompson v NGS on KMAV/KMSR

SC v SJ might be on supertalk 1270 but I'm not 100%

I can't find any info on other 2 games

Thompson over Shiloh by 4 scores

NSGU over NP by 3 to 4 scores also
NSGU only loss was to Shiloh first game of the year I heard it was a better game than what the score reflected. And since then NSGU has been on a war path getting better as the year progresses. I think they could beat Shiloh now by the same score.

My early prediction is:

North prairie by 2 scores---- they have the size and speed to match new salem

Thompson by 4 scores---- don't think Shiloh plays physical enough to slow them down or score enough to keep up.
