cmplx6 wrote:Well just based off of looking at the games I have seen of the two teams that is how I would grade their QB. I think he is a good QB, but I think the NP QB is better. Out of all the players on both teams #28 from Richland is by far the most superior player that is going to be on the field. And I think he is a better Defensive Player than he is on offense. Not that he is a bad RB, I think he is the 2nd best RB in 9 man in that State. If he plays college ball his future is at DB though. Richlands WR's just didn't make the same level of impact plays that their RB did in games, nor did they have the same impact on the game that NP's did.
I also think NP's QB is a better player than Richland's. Not saying that Richland's is bad. I think he is a great player. But NP's has a better arm and can run better. NP's QB is the key to them winning, where Richland's QB is not the key to their success, it is their RB. Maybe I need to watch more games of Richland to see more plays from their WR's, but I saw NP's make more plays.

I am impressed with the speed and intensity that Richland's Offensive line plays with.

I don't think it is going to be a Richland blow out however. I think NP has enough firepower on offense to score with Richland.

Curious, who would you say is better? Of all the RBs I've seen he's at the top.

I think that Malek Larimer is a better RB. Not by much, but he has better vision and top end speed. He can run away on plays that the Richland kid doesn't have. You watch some of the cuts that Larimer makes because his line is inferior to Richland's and you can see that he is just has that it factor for a RB. At the college level Larimer has the best tools to be a RB. #28 from Richland at the college level is a DB or a LB if he gets bigger. Don't get me wrong, #28 is a very talented kid, I think he could be the best FOOTBALL player in the state in 9-man this year, but he is not the best RB.

I can respect that. Scary thing is Ihland has another year of high school so he's only going to get better.

Watched them both play and I guess we must be seeing different things "#28" is a better football player and RB that Larimer. IMO

Ihland the best DB I have seen this year, and the the 2nd best RB, making him the best overall player. When you look at Larimer's runs vs. Ihlands runs back to back Larimer's runs just look more special. They have that wow factor that Ihland's runs lack. I also think that Ihland has much better talent around him. I didn't see a whole lot of Larimer playing defense. I would be interested to know if there are any college's offering Larimer right now.

Larimer isnt even the best runner/player on his team, Schwabe is. Im sure that Larimer has some offers from some of the smaller colleges but I do not think there would be much interest besides that. He is a very good player tho, First-Team All-State no doubt.

I have not had the opportunity to see Richland play, but obviously they are a great team. They have handled everyone they have played with relative ease. One thing I know from watching North Prairie play, is that they have the personnel to give running teams trouble. Their defensive tackles are big and have the ability to control both of the A and B gaps in the run game. This allows them to play their defensive ends and outside linebackers much wider than most teams. They have solid athletes on the perimeter and form tackle very well.
I can see Richland having success with the no-huddle if they are able to put consecutive first downs together. I am interested in seeing this game, as I was really impressed with North Prairie from a physical and fundamental perspective. I will be surprised if this game is the blow-out many predict.

North Prairie last two games have been pretty close vs teams that have not been to highly thought of this season by many. Meanwhile Richland has won games going away from the number 1, 2, & 4 ranked teams in the state the last 3 weeks by about 30 points each week. I do see Richland rolling this week, no different than their other playoff games.

North Prairie 20
Richland 58

I'm sticking with my pick Richland in a shootout 42-28. But it doesn't matter what your ranked or how good you've been throughout the season this goes for all eight teams. Its which team shows up to play will walk away with a win and a state title.

What a ballgame. North Prairie is overwhelming with their size. Pfeifer and Heyen are putting on a show at quarterback.

Looks like the best two teams made the final. Great hook and ladder for the win. Great game. No quit in those two teams.

I'd like to see the final time of possession for each team.

I retract my previous statement. Richlands WRs are good. Both QBs were great. That last play of Richland to end it needs to be on sports center. Gutsy call and the QB hit that pass while getting drilled.

Figured it had to be about that. NP had the ball a ton, but Richland had the quick strike ability.
