Thanks for the info. One correction, Thompson will play the winner of Game 11 and Richland will play the winner of Game 12.

This may be a dumb question: Since this is an odd year, If same seeds play the odd region would host, if 1 plays 3 then 1 would host and if 4 plays 6, then 6 would host? So basically all roads would go through Region 1 seed 1 in the east and Region 5 seed 1 in the west??

I believe so. In the link below, the east order was 1, 3, and 2. The west was 6, 5, and 4.

Ok perfect that clears it up. All roads in the West go through the champion from 6 and in the East is through the champion from 1.

I know I am looking ahead, but you could possibly have a Richland-Cavalier game in the 2nd round. Wow, pretty sure these are 2 of the 3 or 4 best teams in the state. Somebody is going home early that doesn't really deserve to IMO

I agree 100% and if you look onto the next round (round 3) the winner of the potential Richland-Cavalier game most likely plays Thompson which means that two of the top three teams in the state are out by the end of the third round which is unfortunate.

I don't see how that is unfortunate. Everyone can't get a trophy. You get a great game between Richland and Cavalier. Then you get a great game between Thompson and the winner of that game. Then you get an even better game with the winner of that game facing more than likely Shiloh Christian. I would rather have that than a 2nd and third round of blowouts like last year. I think the east is very strong this year and even the 1st round will have some very close games.

I think the west is a little weaker and there will be some blowouts in the 1st and even 2nd round. But by the 3rd and 4th round there will be some very formidable teams. And I don't think that the state championship game will be one-sided either. Whoever makes it out of the east is sure to be the favorite, but there are some very good teams out west that will make it a great post-season.

I think that is playoff football. All the teams that make it to the playoffs are good and most the time a few plays could have been a difference between a win an lose and a whole different seed. I think there are going to be good games all around the state throughout the playoffs

Cmplx6,

Don't look past Hankinson. They will make some noise in this tournament. Their only loss was by a goal line stand against Richland in Colfax. The result could've went either way and Hankinson at Shiloh should be a great game.

I hope I'm wrong but I think the best teams will meet before the championship and that is what's " unfortunate" because when it it comes down to a championship game you want to see the BEST two team face off. That is not going to happen. I don't care what happy fealings anybody has about teams in the west are. But the playoffs are completely stacked on the east. The championship game will be between these two teams
North Prairie vs Richland,Thompson, Shilo,Cavalier!.....I'm gonna go with shiloh it's a toss up. Shiloh is farther west than North Prairie but that's the way the bracket is I just hope the championship game isn't a blowout.....east bracket wins by 20+ in championship is my prediction

Their's going to be a lot of good games this Saturday when the first round kicks off. Yeah it is a toss up any team can hot and make a deep run and we could see some upsets. As for Shiloh they came out on top in a very tough region but seems like the east is much stronger than the west. And I don't see Shiloh getting past Hankinson but if they do, the furthest their go is the quarterfinals Thompson, Cavalier, Richland, and Hankinson are very talented teams so its gonna take a lot to beat one of these four teams. Because Shiloh doesn't know the east really well just take for instance last yr's state title game between Shiloh and Cavalier. I think a team from Region 1 or Region 2 will represent the east. Shiloh graduated a lot and that will catch up to them in the playoffs cause all it takes is one mistake in a playoff game and your season is over just like that. But If I have to make a prediction I'd say in the final four the Thompson Tommies vs Hankinson Pirates and Kenmare-Bowbells-Burke Central Honkers the North Prairie Cougars. And Thompson vs North Prairie for the 9 man title.

I'm not sure K-BC gets by St. John, yet alone H-S. But at the same time, I don't know who comes out of the west. It's really a tossup with no dominant team. Whoever gets hot at the right time could go all the way.

Over the past two weeks Hettinger-Scranton has put up a couple of nice wins against Mott-Regent and New-Salem/Almont/Glen Ullin. They seem to be getting hot at the right time, and they could make it to the semi's for a date with North Prairie and H-S would host that game.

Look out for a 3peat. The Tornadoes are starting to play their best football and they are multidimensional. Playoff experience can't be underestimated. The only problem with whoever comes out of the east might be health because they will have run a gauntlet.

Nope, they won't make it out of the second round. Definitely not the physically imposing team they were the last couple years. They have good coaching, which is huge. Still won't be making it to the big show.
