My Picks for Week 7:

Region 1 - Richland, Hankinson, LaMoure-L-M, Hatton-Northwood

Region 2 - Thompson, Cavalier, Midway-Minto

Region 3 - Shiloh Christian, Central McLean, Strasburg-Zeeland, Kidder County

Region 4 - North Prairie, TGU, Drake-Anamoose, St. John

Region 5 - R-T-H, Hettinger-Scranton, Mott-Regent

Region 6 - M-L-S, Kenmare-Bowbells, Tioga, Trenton-Trinity Christian

Most of the teams that clinched playoff berths and locked up their seeding will play their starter til maybe halftime then play their 2nd string after that.

I think Kidder County will upset Napoleon-G-S if South Border can do I don't any reason why Kidder County can't. Kidder County gave Central McLean a tough time and their do the same to N-G-S. Central McLean and Linton-HMB is the game of the week. If we get one of our guys back from injury that would help a little. We have three RBs and we've only had two RB's available in the last two weeks. And I see Linton-HMB playing tough but I don't think they want to risk any injuries to their starters in the last game of the season before playoffs. They're probably some of their starters but not all that's one reason why Linton has had problems in the playoffs in 11 Man was do to injuries. They have to stay healthy come playoff time otherwise they won't go far. The Cougars will play all their starters though.

The only way Napoleon-G-S gets a playoff berth is:

1. If they win and Central McLean loses. Cause Napoleon beat us.

Playoff Scenario goes. Correct me if I'm wrong

1. CM clinches a playoff berth with a win.

2. N-G-S clinches a playoff berth with a win and losses by Central McLean and South Border

I don't know how South Border will get in because Central McLean beat them. Unless its by point differential or something.

Central McLean wins and they are in the playoffs because NGS and South Border have 4 losses apiece. If Central Mclean loses to Linton-HMB, they will need Napoleon to lose to Kidder County. If CM, NGS and South Border are tied, South Border would get the fourth seed due to point differential between the three teams. Don’t see South Border beating Shiloh, though, so if you are CM fan, your best hope is for KC to upset NGS—that is if they should lose to Linton-HMB. Linton-HMB may play some reserves, but don’t expect them to lay down for you.

Looking at records, Shiloh has the one seed locked up. I wouldn't be surprised if south border beats Shiloh because the game means nothing to them and they will probably play reaerves for at least a
Half. Same goes for any game where the seeding
Has been decided. I don't think any coach who cannot improve their seeding will take a chance on injuring a player. Would just be a dumb move to Go after a win that doesn't change anything for the playoffs

I don’t agree with that (sitting out starters for whole game) at the high school level, even in a “meaningless” game, but I guess it could happen. I don’t see teams playing their sophomore and freshmen players against varsity players in which the game means so much to them. Talk about injuries. I would think that the younger, less experienced players on those teams would be in higher jeopardy of being injured. I have watched a lot of high school games over the years, and rarely have I seen a team lay down on the final game because it can’t improve their playoff standing. I think those teams will take their chances with their varsity for a majority of the game. This isn’t the NFL.

I agree the starters will see at least half the game for practice sake. Kids want to play. I get the don't risk injury thing though especially in 9 man.

Shiloh starters have only played into the 4th quarter a couple if games this season. Half the games they played the first or maybe second series in the 3rd. So there really won't be any difference this week. Shiloh will still win by 3+ scores and be ready to make a push deep into the playoffs.
