I'd guess Turtle Lake would be one, and I know that area has had some very talented athletes in the past. I'm having trouble thinking that your prediction is based on anything other than rooting for your home team.
Here's where I am having trouble thinking that they stand much of a chance vs. Shiloh.
1. Central McLean beat a poor zero win Kidder County by only 4 points. It isn't like Kidder County has been traditionally strong and just happens to be having a down year and found a way to muster a good effort to play Central McLean close. Kidder's program has been down for years, with no real end in sight.
2. Central McLean beat South Boarder by only two TD's. I've only seen SB play this year on television vs. likely the poorest 9 man team in the state, Sargent Central. And SB only won that game 18-0. SB has been referred to as "scrappy" on this site. I think that is kind of like telling your buddy, that you are setting him up on a blind date and start off by saying she has a great personality.
3. That is 2 wins vs. 2 teams that should not have provided much resistance for a team that you feel is the best team in what you feel is the best region in the state.

I see S-Z as the #2 team with Napoleon and Linton-HMB rounding out the top 4 and making the playoffs. Even if South Border pulls off a huge upset this week and beats Napoleon I don't see the top 4 changing when all is said and done. KC is done and so is Center as far as making the playoffs and if South Border doesn't pull the upset this weekend they are done also. Central McLean has a shot at being the #4 seed if they can beat Linton-HMB. If Linton-HMB beats S-Z this week they become #2, S-Z #3 and Napoleon #4. (A lot of "ifs", but that is what makes 9 man so great!)
Wow! That is Quite an accomplishment. Congrats! No wonder LHMB has had such a strong program over the years. Best of luck to him and his team the rest of the season.Sportsrube wrote:Congratulations to Dan Imdieke, head coach for Linton-HMB. With L-HMB's win over S-Z Friday night he now has the most wins of any FB coach in ND history (321) (He passed Fred Fridley) Nice article in the Bismarck Tribune today. Quite an accomplishment.
