of the four teams left, i believe that napoleon is the only one to win a state title (north dakota's first 9-man title in 1975 according to one internet search)...have any of the others been to state at any other point?

i think that with lakota, the biggest question they have to answer right now is who do they have to stop?

gross ran for 130-plus in the imperials' playoff opener...from what i've read online dewald went for over 200 against hillsboro...and then there is always the random playaction to grunefelder.

personally i think that if lakota would make it to state it is the better story (gotta love the under dog overcoming), but napoleon is tough. i'm guessing it'll be a wild one on saturday.

hopefully anyway...if i'm gonna freeze on the sidelines i'd just as soon watch a good game.

Divide County has been to the championship a few times and Turtle Lake has been there once in 1986. I think that Turtle Lake is just as big a underdog as Lakota.

What number is Gross from Napoleon?
I don't know if I practiced more than anybody, but I sure practiced enough. I still wonder if somebody - somewhere - was practicing more than me.

Divide County went to the title game last year and lost to Richland and won the state championship in 1998 over Hatton-Finley-Sharon.
