In my opinion, Cav and WL are the top dogs. I don't know anything about Divide so I can't speculate there. But as the season shakes out, teams like Shiloh, NRS, or Napolean could prove that they are the teams to beat in the state.

I can't disagree with anything you said, NS seems a lot like the Heat to me. They might not be the best team in state, but might be the favorite to win it all because they'll have the easiest path to the title game. Just like the Heat might not be the best team in the NBA, but lol Eastern Conference.

NS might have a very tough game in the semis at DC though.

Yep....but you don't need an "out" with the Heat..... They've already dubbed (To honor with a new title or description) your "might"

That's good, I think South Border need his talent if they want to win this Friday against NGS.

You ususally get the last 2 games and then you try to use connections, bargaining chips with other coaches around the state. Some are more willing than others. Bribes, blackmail, etc. just kidding. I believe each region is different

Random question...what's people's opinion on a good amount of tackles for a defensive lineman

I'm not an expert by any means, but wouldn't that be very dependent on the scheme?
4-5 a game I think I would be solid, maybe 1-2 more for a 4-3 DE

so would 60 tackles and 11 sacks b pretty good for a defencive tackle? on a team that switches from 3 to 4 front offen he goes to nose when in 3 front

Why are all the state championships on one day?

Scheduling purposes i'm sure. It's not exactly cheap to host an even in either the Fargo Dome or the Aleurus Center. All are played on the same day to consolidate the event into a single day to cut "rental" costs and to try to get different classes of football fans to watch more than just their respective teams play (thus spending more time and likely money at the venue).

But that's just my opinion. Could be other reasons than that

my point was the reason given last year why it was on one day was because the Bison played on Saturday. Well UND doesn't play at home Saturday, so they could move it back to two days like they had before.

I looked and I don't think I started one of these threads for 9 man football.

Another poster PM'd me asked if I'd post this. They can take credit for it if they care too. It's a cool little play. Game is Strasburg/Zeeland hosting Sargent Central from last year, I believe.

The old swinging gate play! I used to run this with my JH team. Depending on the defense, the QB has three options. Pass to the RB behind the line to the right, pass to the center like in this play, or run it himself.

When I was in high school our coach had a center eligible play, too. The line was spread out across the entire width of the field almost so it was difficult to tell who was on the line of scrimmage or not.
