From what I know, Sheyenne-New Rockford will have alot of starters back off a one loss team. I think Cavalier will be pretty tough if they can avoid the injury bug that has been hitting them the last few years. Ray Powers Lake I hear will probably be the favorite in the West. Richland has their QB back and some nice supporting parts. I think St. John and North Prairie will be tough. I think the NE region, can't remember the new #'s will be the toughest region. WL is traditionally strong and not sure about the teams coming down from 11-man. I would think SNR would be the early favorite.

I agree that New Rockford-Sheyenne is probably the favorite out of the gate. They came within a few points of eventual champion Thompson in Thompson. I think if they had won that game it's likely they would have taken home the trophy. They are fast, athletic and strong! Only question I would have for them is who will replace their graduating QB, because he was very good. But if they get decent QB play from whoever takes over they can go a long way.

Cavalier is always tough and think they will be in contention. That Ray/Powers Lake team looks to be impressive out west.

I also think MayPort-CG has a good chance to make some noise come playoff time.

Football still over a month and half away. But how does the four regions look. Which four teams will represent their regions in the playoffs.

My Predictions But I don't know the east very well. In no particular order.

R1- W-L, Maple Valley-Enderlin, LaMoure-L-M, Hankinson
R2- New Rockford-Sheyenne, North Prairie, St. John, Cavalier
R3- Ray-Powers Lake, Mohall-L-S, Central McLean, TGU,
R4- Napoleon-G-S, Linton-HMB, Kidder Cty, Grant County-Flasher

Region 3 has a lot of very good teams. R/PL, MLS, CM, TGU, Surrey, Divide Cty. These teams return lots of experience. I believe region 3 will be battle tested. Ray-Powers Lake has the slight edge in this region.

Region 4- Napoleon is the clear favorite. Besides Linton and Kidder County but I think GC-F, Beach, and possibly Mott-Regent. But GC-F and Beach will be the final two in.

These are subject to change.

I know some teams are favorites right now. Like New Rockford-Sheyenne & Ray-Powers Lake. But when the season starts anybody can beat anyone on any given night.

9-Man Region 1 has several new unknowns this year...GCC/Midkota & Enderlin/Maple Valley coming down and Tri-State coming from SD should add some interesting mix to R1.

My Top 4 in No Particular Order: May-Port-CG, Hankinson, LaMoure-LM, GCC/Midkota; Richland, FSHP and E/MV could beat anyone on any given night and Tri-State is too much of an unknown to even predict. Region 1 may be very wide open in 2019

Is there any reason you have hankinson in the top part of their region? They lost some outstanding players especially in that boll kid

Always well coached...it's in no particular order and they could easily be in the battle for #4. I think Region 1 will have some parity this season...so it will be very interesting.
