Heard N/GS scored 14 in 1st Q; FSHP controlled the ball for most the game; late INT preserved win for N/GS

was NGS missing players? I don't know anything about these teams, except what I read on here and some were picking NGS to be the best team in the state and FSHP to finish at the bottom of their region. That usually means blowout in 9 man football. Good game for FSHP.

Was at the FSHP vs NGS game last night. I expected a lopsided game but FSHP put some good blocks on a much bigger team when it mattered. That helped them stay in it. Interception with 1:20 left from inside the 20 at the goal line was pivotal. No interception and it would have been... I don't know. Great game to watch. Hand shakes and hugs afterwards. Cant beat nine man football imho.

I’m hearing that for the first time in several years Cavalier did not have a summer conditioning program as they did not have faith in the one that was available to them. Well let me tell you it was quite apparent in their non-region season opener against Thompson! This was not a prepared Sandy Laxdal team! It was obvious that in just a few short summer months Cavalier went from a team that was guaranteed wins in their weak region to a team that will have to work for every one of them! They did not put the effort in so now they will have to make it up during the season. Pizza eaters and girl chasers during the summer months results in undesirable results. A junior is their team leader when their seniors should be. Laxdal has the experience to turn it around but only if the players actually want it! And the last time Cavalier had a running clock AGAINST them?? Many years I would bet! Congrats Thompson! You worked for it and got it! You are gonna have a great season! Cavalier has he tools to get on track but let’s see if they do it.

I saw the Cavalier vs Thompson game. No doubt that some of those boys were out of shape. Two of them are just returning from major injuries, and they have had to work hard to just be back to begin competing. It is sad that people have to attack teenage boys for being teenage boys. I'm sure coach Laxdal will make some adjustments, Conley Carrier will return. That will give them a different look. Don't count the tornadoes out! I'm sure they will adjust and get back to Cavalier style football. Don't forget, Cavalier had 15 boys dressed to play that game, and Tanner Urlaub got injured early in the first quarter. How many does Thompson have on their team??? It makes a difference. Good luck to all the teams this season. I hope all the boys on all the teams have a good time in high school. Chase the girls, eat some pizza, play football, and be a kid!! Put some work in too. LOL

This is true except for one Cavalier kid... the Quarterback I heard that he did do the summer program while the rest of the team just took the liberty of going in on their own. In my opinion he was wasn’t in as great as shape as the Thompson kids, but looked to have a little more energy to finish the game than some of his peers. You could definitely tell the kids that put work in the summer with the heat and having to play 48 minutes against a tough opponent hats off to both teams.

one never knows when mixed feelings may come about...
you must be one of those that played every game to its fullest extent and won all the time?

Cavalier put all doubters to rest today! They rolled a very talented Thompson team 58-20! They are #1 in 9 man until another team says otherwise! It will be a tall order for Napoleon and any other team who faces them the rest of the way!.................

It would have been much easier if they made the decision after last season. Then teams could get another game on the schedule. It's going to be tough for teams to find open dates now.

Not quite sure where you got your information or what your resource is. But those pizza eaters and girl chasers spent three days a week in the weight room every week for 9 weeks stretching, lifting, and conditioning. Two of them are coming off major surgeries, while one is playing with a torn acl as we speak. If you are gonna come on here and throw stuff around like that about high school kids make sure your info is right. The other conditions program that they didn’t have “faith in” was probly a good one, I also know what those student athletes did. Don’t be ignorant. And let’s be real here if you aren’t eating some pizza and chasing some girls, you aren’t enjoying your summer.

Going to be interesting how this plays out in the realignment landscape. Two of their coop options are Harvey and Velva. Adding D-A would possibly put either of those two schools in AA enrollment levels, or near the
