I was wondering the same thing

I see that Killdeer is playing Watford. Does anybody know what Watford will have returning from last years squad? Will this be a good indicator of how good Killdeer will be this year? Also Velva is playing Bishop Ryan, I hear from the other threads that Ryan could have a awesome team this year. That could also be a good indicator of what Velva will be able to do or even Ryan. I don't believe Ryan has won that game for some years now. Also a couple of other matchups that I would like to see, like Rugby and Harvey, LLM at Larimore, and New Salem at Standing Rock... jk.

I'm surprised at Kenmare returning to 11 man and beating perennial power Stanley.

Ryan handling Velva

Big win my Killdeer

Can anyone remember the last time Velva had lost by that wide of a margin? Being 450 miles away, I don't think I'm the right person to offer an analysis on the game.  I do know that there are good kids that play for that program and they all work hard.  So I'm going to go with the status quo and assume that they played their tails off and just came up short.

All that said, your typical Velva team will throw "young", "inexperienced", "lost 15 seniors" excuses out the window and may pack a punch for the rest of the season.  I look for them to bounce back and have a great conference season and postseason.

This is the year that Velva will have to re-build. This is the first time they have lost to Minot Ryan in like 9 years. I understand that Ryan has a good team this year and looks to be in the mix for the AA playoffs. Velva has only three seniors on this years squad so it may take some time for them to find their legs and adjust to their team style. Sandy will have them in tune in a few weeks.

That being said, I look forward to the Harvey game vs. Velva. I think Harvey has the team to beat this year and will make their return to the title game if a team like Killdeer doesn't upend them in the playoffs. I don't know what Watford City has this year but that has got to be a big win for Killdeer.

Once the Aggies get their feet underneath them they could make some noise come playoff time but I don't see them repeating this year.
