Games to Watch This Week:

- Lisbon @ Sargent County: A very good Lisbon team is on the outside looking in right now for playoffs and ends with Kindred so probably has to have this one. Sargent County determines its own fate with games vs. Oakes and Lisbon left. This game comes down to who dominates up front and that Lisbon line is solid. Lisbon wins 24 to 18.

- Thompson @ Carrington: I will preface this by saying I have heard Carrington has injury/injuries and if that is true it changes everything I'm about to say but with that being said...here we go. This game will determine the final playoff spot in this region. I have watched both teams play multiple games this season and I'm convinced if at full strength Carrington wins this and keeps Thompson out of the playoffs. I have not been impressed with Thompson outside of the running back/full back and the freshman tight end/wide receiver. They should have probably lost to Grafton (were down 14 to 0 and had thrown 3 picks) and struggled with Park River's D outside of about 3 big plays. Carrington pounds out the ball and hits a couple well timed passes to beat the Tommies (I think it is probably by more than a score but am accounting for the "it's a playoff game and both sides will be up for it factor." Carrington wins 24 to 18. Wouldn't have thought the Tommies would be in danger of missing the playoffs at the start of the year.

- Velva @ Bishop Ryan: Region championship game. Both of these teams are hard for me to read. Bishop lost a close one to Trinity than had a two point game vs. Westhope. Velva has played one score games with Rugby and Nedrose. I'm having a hard time putting a finger on if I think these two make a playoff run or not. I think there is a chance there is a semi-final team from the winner of this game but I also think there is a chance both struggle in the first round. If you look at the comp games Velva has been more impressive so I will use that to give them the nod. Velva wins 36 to 24.

Games of the week IMO

Sargent at Lisbon?? Lisbon gets beat this weekend by Oaks... I don't get it at all. Hoping someone can tell me what happened in that one? If it is raining like it was in Kindred last week... I take Lisbon but if Sargent can use all their weapons... I take Sargent 28 to 16.

Velva and Ryan.... I have been saying I don't think Velva is the real deal all year but this will tell me if they are. I am sticking with my theory that Velva has not played anybody this year so I am going with Ryan... 24 to 12.

That is a good point.... Kindred has kids out and not playing. Oakes has everyone back for this week. Oakes surprised Lisbon last week so they might be prime to upset Kindred as well. I don't think that Oakes can stop Kindred from running even if Oakes "make a pile at the line of scrimmage" defense. But with kids out for Kindred.... can they stop Oakes passing attack.... We will find out.

Who is out for Kindred?

McQuillan, Senior starting QB/S and Klabunde, Senior starting WR/DB. But the replacements for McQuillan, J. Swenson, a Junior at QB, and K. Swenson a Fr at S are actually faster and J. Swenson is a better runner than McQuillan. J. Swenson had a pretty good game at QB (2 TD plus an interception return for a third TD) and K. Swenson had two interceptions. Kindred also had a pretty big Senior class with some Seniors that don't start but can play a little to fill in for injured/out players.

KIndred's biggest strength is the O-line, which has been owing the line of scrimmage the entire season.

Kindred 12 Seniors and one is the Kicker and She was at a Volleyball game on Friday. 3 of the Seniors are out and don't know when or if they will be back. And 3 don't play that much. The Junior class is stepping up and one Freshmen. The O line has found a new gear and even the replacements coming in are playing really well.

If you like blocking.... They are fun to watch.
