I guess the Class B girls basketball coaches must have decided on the method of seeding these teams.

I get using QRF. Big state, lots of miles, not everyone can see everyone.

Seed the thing through 8 maybe, huh? If things go the way of the seed, we get Langdon and Oakes, a 2 vs 5, in the semis, when it should be Bowman County and Oakes, a 4 vs 5, who played in the regular season. Miles weren't a problem then. Rugby is top 8, and they get Oakes in the first round? Ridiculous.

Seed 8, draw the rest, play the games.

I wouldn't be surprised in game 4, game 6, and game 8. Those 2 vs. 3 seeds are going to be tough. I think if Thompson was full strength they would have the edge but with some guys out I think the game is more evenly matched. Also, with the game not played in Harvey because of field conditions its going to be interesting. Oakes i have heard has a couple kids out which makes it more evenly matched for a i believe full strength Rugby Squad. New Salem is a pretty solid team as well, but i'm giving Bishop Ryan the edge.

Because the system is flawed. Situations happen every year like happened this year in 9 Man. #2 QRF team in the State doesn’t get a seed is about as flawed as it gets. Happened last year in 11 man as well with the #3 QRF team. This system practically defeats the purpose of seeding IMO. There is another thread addressing this whole issue with some practical solutions...

Langdon vs. Oakes is the matchup I'm most excited for. I have thought these are two of the best teams in the state all season. Rumor was Oakes was banged up also heard that Rugby threw the ball over them last game. If they can't slow down Rugby's passing attack they will be shredded by Langdon. I'm hoping both teams are at full strength and it is a great game but worry this might end up more lopsided than I once thought. Langdon is the real deal and has earned a trip to state if they can punch their way through Rugby, Oakes, and Lisbon in the playoffs. Great week of playoff games excited to see what happens.
