BOWMAN COUNTY @ Langdon-Bowmans offense has to get going early and be balanced run/pass. They have a good chance on the road with a solid defense. (Senior loaded team fights to state "A")

Dickinson Trinity @ HILLSBORO-This years rematch may be closer than last years.

The BC vs Langdon is an interesting match up. I think BC is for real and has all the tools and is Senior led. Langdon is young but well coached and impressive for how young they are. 7 hours is a long road trip, I’ll go Langdon at home.

Hillsboro in game two.

As stated in another thread, no one is going to come within 10 points of HCV.

And I'll go Langdon in the 2nd game.

Saturday, November 3rd
G13: 4-1 (4) Bowman County (10-0) @ 2-1 (2) Langdon/Edmore/Munich (10-0) This will be hard fought game. Both teams have proven they can play in any weather conditions. Langdon will be in full force for this game and have home field advantage. BC is having a great season but I think it ends in Langdon.
G14: 4-2 (RV) Dickinson Trinity (8-1) @ 1-1 (1) Hillsboro-Central Valley (10-0) Rematch of last years semifinal game. I will pick HCV to win this game.

Congratulations Bowman County! You are 10-0. You won a very tough region. You beat an extremely tough Velva team (who is no stranger to November football).

Your "reward": A 420 mile bus trip to Langdon.

The QRF... ugh.

G13: 4-1 (4) Bowman County (10-0) @ 2-1 (2) Langdon/Edmore/Munich (10-0)

I think this is a fascinating matchup. Langdon is a really good team with almost all of their major contributors being sophomores or juniors. They have had a lot of success in the last two years so should know what it takes to get back to the Dakota Bowl. They are well coached and I think do as good of job as anyone in the state at running a system that fits the kids they have. Bowman has 14 seniors and is a much larger (physically) team. They play a style of football that travels well in the playoffs. They are battle tested this year and have beat some very good teams in the playoffs. They have the across state road trip working against them but high school kids are resilient and they will be up and ready for the game. I think that it might be just a bit too much physicality and age for this Langdon team to handle. It will come down to who gets up early and eliminates turnovers. Weather could be a big factor with how Langdon wants to play. I will take Bowman by a final of 20 to 14. Langdon is a powerhouse for the next few years and strings together a ton of wins over a 4 year span. Look for them to go back to the Dakota Bowl next year.

G14: 4-2 (RV) Dickinson Trinity (8-1) @ 1-1 (1) Hillsboro-Central Valley (10-0)

A part of me wants to take HCV by 15+. HCV is a darn good team with no big weakness. They run as well as anyone in the state, they can throw if they need to, they are tough on defense, and can give you many different looks on offense. I don't see how anyone knocks them off this year. Now that being said if anyone can do it Trinity is probably that team. In my opinion these are two teams that would have a lot of success if they were playing up a division and are just two really solid football programs. I think that the depth and experience of HCV are too much. I will take HCV by a score of 28 to 20. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they jump on them early and the score doesn't end up that close.

Tell Bowman to be ready for no play clock and the calls will not go your way. Also People from Bowman make sure you don't step on the track or even close to it even tho they have the visitors stand in a swamp. Passing this on from a Kindred Football parent.
I wasn't there so I have no comment. Watched a little on Huddle.

Home fans are not allowed on the track either. If you stood for the game, you were standing in water, if you sat in any of the bleachers or the stands you were in water, If you went to the bathroom or the concession stand you waded through water, If you were a player on the field you were playing in standing water and mud. It really didn't matter where or who you were, you were in a swamp. For someone with no comment you said a lot of passed on info. I agree some of the calls could have went either way, but the punt was correct, the way I understand the rule.

Can someone explain what happened on the punt? The radio did not elaborate at all what happened or what the call was.

Langdon punted and it went off a Langdon player then up into the air, where a Kindred player tried to catch it about 3 yards or so past the line of scrimmage, he didn't take possession of it, then a Langdon player jumped on it. They gave the ball to Langdon 1st & 10. The way I understand the rule is that as soon as the ball crossed the line of scrimmage, it is considered a change of possession, so when the Kindred player touched it it became a live ball. Please correct me if I am incorrect.

I was not there but I know the coaching staff and the fans were furious. Kindred received about as many penalty's in one game as they had all year. An interception that was ruled dual possession... Langdon ball?? The Punt.... My understanding of the rule is once a player from punting team touches the ball it is a dead ball. Not an official here. I would like to see the rule book.

Curious if #58 for Langdon played in the game.

So the punt hit a lineman behind the line of scrimmage?

Not the case at any level of FB.

No horse in this race...but the rule was enforced correctly. "First Touch" only occurs past the line of scrimmage. So if the punt went off a Langdon player behind the line of scrimmage, it is not considered the "First Touch " by the kicking team. Therefore, the first touch was by the Kindred player, which to my understanding, was fumbled.

I was completely neutral on this game as well and though the punt was called correctly IMO, Kindred got the short end of a couple other calls. IMO lack of a play clock cost Kindred a touchdown and the penalty they were assessed for "delay" in the red zone was a really short 25. I think it was just one of those games where things really went Langdon's way. Can't wait for the BC vs. Langdon matchup. Should be a good one!

Bowman's killed themselves with penalties and turnovers. They had it. I was hoping they would make it to state. Sounded like a good close game though.

Langdon won 22 / 19 very close game with them coming from behind twice in the second half to win the game. Will be repeat of last years championship game.
