I thought I looked through all the predictions and only 2 people picked EEK.
I wonder if EEK/HCV game just doesn't happen because of an act of god or something would more people be picking them.

In order for EEK to possibly meet up with HVC, they have to win two tough games on the road. Not impossible by any means, but still a difficult task.

G9: R2 #2 Carrington (8-1) @ R1 #1 (1) Hillsboro-Central Valley (9-0) - Carrington isnt physical enough and Hillsboro-CV keeps the train rumblin'. 42-6
G10: R3 #2 Des Lacs-Burlington (8-1) @ R4 #1 (4) Dickinson Trinity (7-1) -Dickinson is hot and they keep it rolling at home. 26-18

G11: R4 #2 (RV) Beulah (8-1) @ R3 #1 (3) Velva/Sawyer (9-0) -The team to beat out west at home and will bring it out in a good game. 35-34
G12: R1 #2 (5) Ellendale/Edgeley-Kulm (8-1) @ R2 #1 (2) Langdon/Edmore/Munich (9-0)- E/E/K is the big winner on the road this week, Thunder get it done big. 48-24

EEK could very well pull off a win over Langdon this weekend, however predicting ANYONE to score 48 against Langdon has NOT seen their defense play.

Langdon has not seen a team as physical and talented as E/E/K, I have watched Langdon play, and while they have some great tempo on defense, they just have some holes and exploits.

That's quite the bold prediction for a team that has only let up 44 points ALL YEAR. I think people are living off EEKs run last year. But this year these two teams are completely different from the year before.

Langdons defense may have only allowed 44 points, but that isnt all based on how good their defense is, but also how unprepared and bad game-planning from the other side of the ball. Im just hoping for a good game. At least this prediction aint as bold as the one i had last week.

Almost though...You aren't the guy that picked Kindred are you? I almost commented on that one as well, as there is no way anyone could have seen those two teams play and pick Kindred.

For the EEK followers out there...Does EEK have defenders to guard Langdon's receivers? I've seen both of these teams play a couple times this year, and as good as EEK is, I'm not sure if they can stop Langdon's passing game.

Just comparing to last year, they did have Vance & Wertz who were big defensive contributors. In the title game, other than those 2 who graduated (& maybe white) it was 24 & 7 who covered the receivers for the most part. I believe they still play in those same positions. I think their DEs (Hanson and grueneich) are pretty important in the pass game defense IMO. I don’t know that it will be enough. Their line is smaller this year so I don’t know that they can spread them out like they did in the title game against DLB.

I like those crazy predictions. Creates some good chatter.

Wow!! Some bold predictions (which I like) but Carrington not physical enough?? I hope your at the game tomorrow night so you can eat your words!! You should talk with some coaches and players who have played Carrington and see if they agree with your assessment?? Carrington is going to give them a good game not sure if they can win but it will be PHYSICAL!! I will go with bold prediction and say Carrington wins 31-29.
And you have not seen Langdon play because your prediction will not be close!! Langdon wins 46-24.

I know right, i knew Langdon was the way better team, but had to give the underdog some hope

Velva 22 - Beulah 0

Velva's passing kept them rolling and played tough against Beulah's rushing attack. Just what they needed to do for the win. I thought it would be closer or Beulah putting up more points. Velva's defense sounded better than I thought. Anyone hear what's happening out in Langdon??

If any of you were playing attention...the two pages on the thread were full of discussion about number of players!!! It was for information!!! You all are crazy or have no idea who I am if you think that was some sort of excuse for Carrington!! Hillsboro and Carrington played a great physical game it was fun to watch and Hillsboro deserved to win with an awesome ground attack!! Let's not be so sensitive.....alright snowflakes!

If you think that doesn't matter, you're mistaken.

HCV is talented, no doubt.. But it helps when you can change your D-line every 2 plays, if needed. (Which is what I witnessed them do vs a couple of teams this year).

Who do you see making the semifinals?

Hillsboro, Oak Groove, Trinity, Des Lacs, Velva, Beulah, Langdon, EEK

Hillsboro, Trinity, Beulah, EEK

Hillsboro, EEK

Hillsboro - reclassification worked out in their favor this year.

Couldn't agree more with that working in their favor. Stating the obvious...I watch teams like Oak Grove and Enderlin/MV dress 20 kids for a game & most kids play both ways. Tough to compete with a team that dresses double that. I am sure some Hillsboro kids play both ways but I would guess it's quite a few less than the others.

Would really like to see a rematch of EEK/Hillsboro.

I haven't seen any of the 3 teams play. I see that HCV has 44 players on their roster with 10 of them being freshman. I also see that Oak Grove and EMV both have 25 players on their roster with 2 freshman each. My question would be: How many freshman, if any, play major minutes for HCV? In my experience you don't see a lot of freshman contributing for a playoff football team. I could be way off on this, just an observation.
