Wow. Region 2 is going from one of the more geographically convenient regions to a crazy amount of travel.

I do believe that VC puts them in by population. The school can opted up as long as a team wants to go down.

This is how they determined the plan:
http://www.ndhsaa.com/files/2015_16_Spo ... _Guide.pdf

I also saw that Lewis & Clark was dissolving their co-op with Our Redeemers with Our Redeemers co-oping with Bishop Ryan. I'm not sure if the appeal was approved or not, but that would knock L&C to 9-man and bump Bishop Ryan to A.

According to the latest enrollment list, Shiloh Christian was the cutoff (excluding Nedrose opting up). So if someone like Larimore, Oakes, Killdeer, or Bishop Ryan (if the co-op with ORC is not approved) decided to opt-up, then I could see Shiloh could go down to 9-man since they have been 9-man since their program has been in existence.

Nothing to do with the division changes but this made me angry

If the emergency co-op is approved-
1. Only seniors from the applying school would be permitted to play varsity competition for a 1000 non compliance fee...per player....
2. Sub varsity players could play for 200 dollars per player...

The NDHSAA gets on their high horse and preaches participation is down. We need to increase participation! Then there's this clause.....and even if the school is willing to pay for those players....the NDHSAA has the final decision that will 99 out of 100 times be. NO!

I'd be surprised if they didn't move down. 11 kids out in grades 7-9.

Interesting makes Region 1 a real battle. 4 teams from AA and Four A teams. Could be the toughest region again.

Don't disagree. Just stating that IMO Region 1 was the standard bearer for quite a few years. Not that they always had the top team, but top to bottom I believe they used to be toughest. Hasn't been the case the last few years. I think looking at this region top to bottom they could be back at or near the top. Talented teams in each region but top to bottom that one looks to be the toughest year in and year out. Or at least two year until the NDHSAA decides to change it again. Lol. I believe this is still a proposal they haven't finalized anything YET, correct?

That is just for the second year of the plan. I suppose its in there to discourage any major changes for two years. Schools should be able to plan their coops for the years of the realignment.

I was wondering if all the coops are in place because I know that with Lakota/DP/Edmore this coop is ending this year. Edmore has already applied and got approval to join Langdon. This leaves Lakota and DP and this requires a new coop agreement for them and so far I have not seen any application to the activities association. I wonder how many coops changes are to come in next few weeks with some of the schools. I also was wondering how many schools have opted to go 6 man route I haven't seen any list on that yet.

Oldtimer...the deadline for coop dissolution was some time ago, and for new coops was Sept 15. That was included in the guidelines of Caserace's post above, although not crystal clear.

Teams have until Sept 30 to request to opt up in classification.

The reason I said this about Lakota/DP with Edmore leaving the coop with Lakota/DP has existing coop for track and field called Nelson county. So by Activities rules existing coop between two schools this would be the coop they would have to be under because they can't have two different coops with the same schools. Now they list Lakota as the name for coop so how is this going to work if they follow their rules because I know two years ago when Edmore tried to join track coop it would have meant that it would have been under Lakota name and activities didn't grant a waiver which was requested. So getting back to football I have not seen application at least on board minutes for coop agreement between Lakota/DP or cancellation of other coop agreement. So my question is how are they going to handle this without changing the rules by activities association. I also know that this has been point of contention between Lakota and DP in the past. Also like I said I haven't seen how many schools have opted for starting a 6 man football program I did see one school asking to play at large schedule for 6 man. I also saw there were several applications for new and ending football coops in last meeting for Activities Association so how will these coops effect change classification on existing teams I wonder is already set in place.

Anyone heard anything about killdeer? They are 9man right now but have been a constant power in A division for a long time. Are they going to opt up or stay in 9man.

Killdeer has until September 30th to decide whether or not to opt up to A. If they don't make the move by then they'll be 9-man for the next 2 years. The ball is in their court. I'm sure that Shiloh would be thrilled if Killdeer opts up because it would give them the option to remain 9-man.

From what I understand Killdeer will be remaining in the 9-man class next season. Will be interesting to see if their success can transfer over to 9-man style of football.

There's talk on the 9-man forum that Killdeer is considering opting up to class A for the 2017-2018 seasons. What's the word out there ? Is there anything to it ?

The football plan was updated today. Killdeer opted up and Standing Rock is now listed as playing an Independent/JV schedule.
