First round picks. Larimore, Northern Cass, Hazen, WNG. East was pretty easy to pick but the west seems like anyone can beat anyone.

Has anyone heard what the deal was with Velva Friday?? Shocking loss to DLB if everyone was healthy. If that's the case, the Aggies are certainly limping into the playoffs.

I believe they were resting a few injured starters, i'm sure they will be fine for atleast the first round.

That game shocked me too. Will Hazen get any of their starters that are out back for the playoffs?

I believe 2 key starters that are out won't be eligible to return until the week of the the championship game.

Yes and the others are out for injuries or quit. Its bleak for the bison.

3 very solid matchups this week (G2, G3 & G4)

Larimore should win by 30 points
Harvey-WC pulls upset by 6 points
Velva/Sawyer wins by 8 points
WNG wins a defensive battle by 4 points

Just My Opinions!

Well wouldn't you think the coaches would talk the ones who quit into coming back out now considering the problems?

bisonation6, that is one of THE MOST ASININE COMMENTS I HAVE EVER HEARD. I don't have personal knowledge of what happened in Hazen, but if the kids quit, there should be no recourse. Any coach who would entertain the thought of asking a kid who quit to come back, should be kicked in the a$$ and shown his walking papers. Character development through sports is paramount...even ahead of winning. Winners never quit, and quitters never win. Pretty simple concept. I hope they're teaching that in Hazen.

It probably wasn't a bad thing for Velva to rest some kids and finish 3rd in Region 3. IMO, it gives them a more realistic shot at making it to the state championship game.
If you were Velva, which route would you rather take to try and get to the finals? As the R3#3, you play a Hazen team that is having some well-documented issues, then play Bishop Ryan who you beat by 30 early in the season, then get Killdeer. Or play an improved Southern McLean team who you only beat by 9 early in the season, then play the favored team in the west, Killdeer, in the quarters. If you get by Killdeer, you'd still have to beat the winner of the other side of the bracket (say, WNG who beat Velva by about 20 in mid-season) to get to the championship game. There's no way Velva intentionally threw the game, but I'm sure the Aggies weren't "emotionally distraught" by the loss, either.

I think Velva would have been the 1 seed. Then they would have played Bishop Ryan in the quarters after a week off, and probably Killdeer in the West Final unless WNG upset them. Besides, they just surrendered home field for probably the rest of the year. Some say home field advantage doesn't effect games, it does. Now to make it to the ship, they must win a road game, followed by another and another. Not easy.

Had WNG, Velva and Bishop Ryan all won their final game, Velva would have been the #2 seed; meaning no bye. So for all intents and purposes, they only gave up one home game.

That's true but is anyone in the west going to challenge PRFL or Carrington?

I agree with Rattler. Why would you want quitters back on the team? Better off playing 2nd string kids that WANT to play.

Nope. During the three hours allotted for the Class A championship game, rather than play the game they'll just do a season highlight reel, team interviews and induct them into the ND Football Hall of Fame. ;))

Well didn't everyone think last year the west semifinal was the title game? I just don't believe in ruling anyone out.
