Oakes vs. PRFL could be a close game i think park river has a Slight edge in running game but it will be a shootout Oakes 42-34
Larimore vs Carrington size against speed to sum it up but im goin Larimore 34-24
Killdeer vs Rugby heidlbaugh is the difference in this game Rugby 28-22
Hazen vs Berthold/LC the bombers have the ability and talent to give them a run but i like Hazen 31-18

Yes that Killdeer = Rugby game could go either way. Killdeer is very balanced at the offense as the season ends, and plays very good defense. I know and hear Rugby can put points on the board but im not sure on their defensive end.?? Can Heidlbaugh do it alone tho? Curious on how they play defense. Havnt seen them play yet this yr. That will be key in this game I think. Game of the week!

Larimore and Carrington could also go either way also i spose...Carrington in a close one tho.

Rugby's defense is excellent. While the closest team to Killdeer they've played all year is Berthold, (skill wise, at least.) Rugby excels at making turnovers and playing 3-and-out defensive series. I'm not sure if this is correct, but watching them play, I think I've seen all of their cornerbacks get at least 1 interception this year, if not more, and I know their middle linebacker has a pick 6.

I screwed up on the quotation. I meant to bold "Curious about their defense."

Oakes over Park River 46-14 I'd expect this to be decided before the half.
Carrington over Larimore 20-12 I think this will likely be the best game of the day in Class A. I think Larimore has a better line and I almost always go with the better line, but Larimore counts on so many sophomores. I'm going with the more experienced group of kids. I hope I'm wrong. I'd love to see the Bears win this one.
Rugby over Killdeer in a close game.
Hazen over Berthold in a not so close game.

Larimore is turning into a team of destiny. They won 17-6. I would say it was a great game to listen to but the broadcaster was very poor. I can't wait to watch larimore play park river next week in the semis.

Lairmore controlled the trenches with 4 yards and a cloud of dust. Carrington had 5 turnovers...one inside the 5 on which Larimore scored and one inside the 15 on which Larimore scored. Carrington also had the go ahead touchdown called back. Very poor outing for Carrington and Larimore played their game.

These two teams would battle every time they played...Very different styles but very evenly matched.

Next week will be interesting...I'll go Hazen vs. Park River in the final....

Although I expect larimore to win next week, I wouldn't go arguing about how they don't get any respect. There playoff record the past couple of years hasnt been the greatest which can lead people to have some questions about them.

Larimore 31 - PRFL 28 (Larimore grinds this one out)
Killdeer 28 - Hazen 26 (Killdeer gets more physical and tightens up their defense)
Turnovers & penalties huge of course in these games....

I will throw out a question. I was wondering what your thoughts are about how these four teams would fair against the four "AA" teams left. It has been a long time since I saw a "A" game. I have watched four or five "AA" games the last few years. I was of the opinion that the depth these "AA" have would be pretty hard for "A" teams to overcome. Thoughts?

Hazen beat Beulah 14-6 at the beginning of the year. Beulah is a very different team than they were at the beginning of the year though. Killdeer beat Trinity at the beginning of the year as well. I think they would both give Beulah a game now. I can't speak for the teams in the east. Shanley and St. Mary's are at a totally different level than everyone else in AA and I think they would beat any of the A semifinal teams pretty handily.

sec...I was waiting for someone to bring up Larimore's last two post season teams (although they were better teams than this years) I was talking about the respect they were getting in regards to this year!! If you followed teams throughout both regions you would see that this years teams from top to bottom were not as strong! And grant it Larimore's track record against region 1 was terrible, but we're talking about their record against Park River...enough said!

Records against previous teams and records in the regular season don't mean a thing.

sec...yet records in the playoffs with players who already graduated mean something. You must be from Park River! To the Park River fans, I give you lots of props, you all beat a very good Oakes team, but I really think it's going to be tough to beat Larimore at home! The best part about it is that Region 2 will represent at State!!! Good luck to both teams!

Kudos to Park River from their big win last week. I wasn't there but it sounded like they were very opportunistic and did a good job of making plays when they needed to.

This week I think that Larimore will win the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Usually when that happens the dominate line will win unless they have a few big turnovers or the other team makes more than their share of big plays, either on special teams or threw the air.

I'm going with
Larimore 26
Park River 14
