R2 #4 - Park River-FL (4-4) @ R1 #1 - Maple Valley-Enderlin (7-1) 18-13
R1 #3 - Northern Cass (5-3)@ R2 #2 - Langdon (8-1) 28-12
R1 #4 - Milnor-North Sargent (5-3) @ R2 #1 - Larimore (8-0) 27-21
R2 #3 - Westhope-Newburg-Glenburn (5-4) @ R1#2 - Linton-HMB (5-3) 22-16
Things to possibly think about- Park River game could be closer than many think, Langdon's offense will be tough to stop, M-NS has one of the best run defenses of class A will match up good with Larimore, Linton and W-N-G will be a close contest with both teams coming in strong.

R4 #4 - Grant County-Flasher (4-4) @ R3 #1 - Stanley-Powers Lake (8-0) 48-6
R3 #3 - Velva (4-4) @ R4 #2 - Killdeer (6-3) 14-23
R3 #4 - Berthold-Our Redeemer's (4-4) @ R4 #1 - Hazen (6-2) 35-13
R4 #3 - Heart River (7-1) @ R3 #2 - Watford City (5-3) 24-12
Things to possibly think about- Region 4 has quite the close competition.. #1-#3 are all similar in potential and strength. Stanley-PL will be playing their best yet in hopes of another championship, Velva and WC could be underlooked teams that do have potential.

R2 #4 - Park River-FL (4-4) @ R1 #1 - Maple Valley-Enderlin (7-1)-28-12
R1 #3 - Northern Cass (5-3)@ R2 #2 - Langdon (8-1)-38-14
R1 #4 - Milnor-North Sargent (5-3) @ R2 #1 - Larimore (8-0)-32-24
R2 #3 - Westhope-Newburg-Glenburn (5-4) @ R1#2 - Linton-HMB (5-3)-24-22

MVE shouldnt have to much trouble if they come to play, Langdons offense won't be stopped but they need to take care of the ball and northern cass has a good running back but won't be abe to run very successful on Langdons D, Larimore game will be a hard fought battle but should come out on top (if larimores line can do what they normally do), and Linton will have a very tough game with WNG but i think they will come out on top but I won't be surprised if WNG wins

R4 #4 - Grant County-Flasher (4-4) @ R3 #1 - Stanley-Powers Lake (8-0)-48-6
R3 #3 - Velva (4-4) @ R4 #2 - Killdeer (6-3)-22-18
R3 #4 - Berthold-Our Redeemer's (4-4) @ R4 #1 - Hazen (6-2)-42-22
R4 #3 - Heart River (7-1) @ R3 #2 - Watford City (5-3)-38-14

Stanley should have no problem, killdeer game will be a very fun game I think to watch, and hazen and HR should come out on top (HR won't be stopped with there run game) and hazen from what I hear has to much talent not to win

What is the reasoning? I would think Killdeer would want the game at home? Is their field tore up again?

Tried to redo the field over the summer and it turned out to be worse than it was before. It is honestly a safety hazzard.

R2 #4- Park River 12 @ R1 #1- MV-E 24:
The Falcons definitely won’t be overlooking Park River, even though they are the #4 seed. MV-E played the role of spoiler as a #4 seed last year, beating #1 ranked and unbeaten Harvey in last year’s first round of playoffs. Coming off a hard fought and emotional victory last Friday against Oakes, the Falcons will be flying high playing their first playoff game in Buffalo since 2004. Park River could have the recipe for success in the playoffs though with a tough running game. This game could be decided by the Falcons’ success in stopping the run, and the Aggies ability to hold down the big-play potential of MV-E’s offense.

R1 #3- NC 12 @ R2 #2 –Langdon 32:
With the Jaguars coming in scuffling (losers of 2 or their last 3, and their only win being a 8 point victory against 1-win Kidder Co.), I think Langdon coasts to the only easy victory in the eastern half of the Class A playoffs. Northern Cass needs to bring their A game if they plan to make this one close. The Jaguars need to control the line of scrimmage (which they are capable of doing), dominate the time of possession, and limit Langdon’s possessions. But unless the Cardinals forget how to stop the run during the week, they will move on to the quarterfinals.

R1 #4- M-NS 20 @ R2 #1- Larimore 24:
I believe this will be the closest game of the weekend in the East. M-NS is arguably the hottest team coming into the playoffs, winners of their last 5 games, and Larimore is one of only 2 undefeated teams in the state. The Bulldogs’ misdirection run game can stifle teams if they are not disciplined on D, but the Polar Bears (quite possibly the best mascot in the state) are familiar with seeing quality running backs playing in Region 2. In the end, I feel that the Bulldogs may struggle if they fall behind early, due to a lack of a quick strike offense. However, we should not forget that M-NS has won 4 road playoff games in the last 2 years, so they have been up to the task in the past.

R2 #3- W-N-G 8 @ R1 #2- Linton 18:
Linton comes into the playoffs on a roll, seemingly figuring out their offense that was a little stagnant early in the year. I think the combination of a hot opponent, long bus ride, and tough place to play signals the end of the road for WNG.

Your the best in the business in "A" football. Your Region I analysis was almost exact...including the scores.

region 1

don't overlook northern cass. they are huge on the line and symington if he hits a hole is gone. they could make this game way closer than people think. i am going to say 6 point win either way.

linton got in luckily they may be clicking now, but i really do not think there run will last in the playoffs. they are not overly big this year or fast, need to play mistake free football.

mns is fast, those tailbacks and line, wow!! against maple valley, they ran all day, hitting the outside edges and trap blocking they were unstoppable. makes for another real exciting 1 vs 4 matchup. an upset here would not surprise me, if mns can mix in just a few pass plays, lookout!!

mve is tough, not dominate on either side of the ball, but consistent. defence is great if they come to play.
offence needs the run game to open up the explosive pass game. if they play smart and up to par they should make the next round easy.

WOW! I was at the Larimore/MNS game today. Although Larimore seemed to be the more physical team MNS used a little trickery to finish the game. They scored on about a 50yard td pass in the 2nd quarter, 50yd Halfback pass in the 3rd and to take the lead with 0:40 in the 4th they scored on a double reverse Halfback pass for about 50yds on a 4th and 13 play. Larimore seemed to run all over MNS, but then they would stall. The MNS offense struggled for most of the game. They had a few runs of about 10 but other than that they were shut down. I hate to see a player like Peterson finish his career on a play like that but I'm not gonna complain being a MNS fan. Now I get to travel 5 1/2 hours to Westhope. The pains of playoff football!

I was in Linton at the game vs. W-N-G. The story in the paper today said it right, couldn't think of anything else that could have gone wrong for the Sioux at the beginning of the game. Linton recovered a bad punt snap in the endzone, a fumbled punt snap went for six (around 60 yards), a beautiful pass reception in the back of the endzone, and a 50+ rushing TD to put them up 28-0; But then, the comeback begins! The last three quarters was simply this, WNG made big plays when they needed them most. Down 28-8 on 4 and goal from the Linton 20-yard line, Hunter Braaten makes the perfect throw to Calder Salloway to score and whittle the lead down to 28-14. Stopping the Linton offense again, with 6 seconds to go in the half, Kodie Hancock steps in front of a TE screen and takes a pick 6 to the house 50+ yards to bring the score to 28-22 at halftime. Thanks to their running game, Linton marches down the field and scores on the opening drive of the second half, making the game 36-22. But that would be all for the Lions. Ensuing kickoff, Kodie Hancock returns the ball 80 yards for a score to bring the game to 36-28: Stopping the Lions again on defense, the next Sioux possession has Hunter Braaten running in for a touchdown with a great 2-pt conversion pass to even the game at 36-36; Too many times in the second half the Lions would try to get something going on offense, but the Sioux had 3 interceptions in the 2nd half at critical moments for the Lions. The Sioux iced the game on a long pass play to Kodie Hancock from Hunter Braaten to make the final score 42-36. The Sioux move forward at home to face Milnor-NS next Saturday afternoon. Passing, big plays, a stout defense (2nd half), and amazing effort from the skill positions made this a game to remember for the Sioux.

I was at maple valley enderlin and it turned out just like i said, mve did not show up. could not run the ball thus they could not throw the ball. park river ran all day mve could not stop them. you could tell the coach's from park river did there homework, every thing mve tried to run offencivly, park river had 2 to three guy's ready for it. congrats to park river they came ready to play and executed perfectly.

Most of the time, if you put 3 TD's on the board you win the game. Pretty obvious the game plan for MVE was to stop #24 and they just couldn't get it done according to the Fargo Forum article. I am also pretty sure the MVE coaches "did their homework as well". But, MVE DL and LB struggled to stop the run/tackle well all year. Look at the box scores of the NC game, MNS, Oakes and now the PRFL game. Great season, just game up short.

Well I was at the MVE-Park River game, and although I think the Falcons may have been the better all around team, Park River's strength (running the ball) was MVE's greatest weakness (stopping the run). Park River executed all day long, and only attempted 1 pass all game (which turned out to be a HUGE 4th down screen pass in the 4th quarter). In my opinion, it came down to MV-E's DL and LB not making the plays that needed to be made. The Falcon safeties and corners were making way too many tackles 5-10 yards downfield. When a team rushes for 271 yards, you know that you were clearly overmatched in that phase, and fortunately for the Aggies, they took advantage, and are moving on.
