Random ramblings and observations from ND Football Guy ...

Bowman County – Lost to Class “A” Beach for the second straight year. 4-15 in their last 19 games. Two wins against New Town and two against Standing Rock since 2006.

Beulah – Has been shutout in the 3 of their last 5 games dating back to last year.
The Miners haven’t won two games in a row since the start of the 2007 season, DLB and Carrington.

Dickinson Trinity – 0-2 start. Has not scored more than one touchdown in either game. 2-5 in last seven games played dating back to last year. 1-5 in last 6 home games dating back to playoff game in 2006. The lone home win in the last 6 games was against Standing Rock (October 26, 2007).

Hazen – Has given up one touchdown in 2 games. Has shutout 6 teams in it’s last 13 games dating back to last year. 19-3 in their last 22 games. Three straight seasons knocked out in the Class AA semi-finals, 13-6 to Beulah in 2005, 28-7 to Dickinson Trinity in 2006, and 21-18 to Fargo Oak Grove in 2007.

Minot Ryan – 0-2 start. 2 losses, already more than all of last year when Lions went 10-1. Have given up a total of 76 points in their first two games.

Standing Rock – 2-17 in last 19 games. Both wins were against New Town, 8-6 in overtime in 2007, 22-20 in 2006. Warriors have not scored more than one touchdown in a game since Sept. 29, 2006 (14 games ago)

Watford City – Wolves now 0-3 vs. Devils Lake the past two seasons. 34-13, 33-13 (07’ playoff), and this year 20-14.

Bottineau – 4-16 in their last 20 games. Wins over Belcourt twice, New Town, and Carrington.

Devils Lake – After going 1-8 in their last season (2006) of Class AAA, the Firebirds are 12-2 over the past two seasons in Class AA. Both losses were to Fargo Oak Grove last year.

Carrington – 3-17 in last 20 games. Big shutout win over Beulah this weekend, 19-0. The Cardinals were on the other end of the shutout the two previous seasons against the Miners, losing 32-0 in 07’and 35-0 in 06’.

Central Cass – 5-15 in last 20 games. Second straight year with an opening loss to Kindred followed by a win over Maple Valley-Enderlin.

Fargo Oak Grove – 20-4 in last 24 games. Second straight year with a Week # 2 win over Fargo South JV … 42-28 in 2008, 21-8 in 2007.

Grafton – The Spoilers have outscored the Cavalier Tornadoes 60-6 in their past two victories … 24-6 in 2007 and 36-0 on Friday night.

Rugby – The Panthers declawed the Lions 35-27 Friday night, after losing twice to them in 2007 … a 20-13 loss at home in the regular season and a 27-14 quarterfinal playoff loss to the then # 1 ranked Lions in Minot on Oct. 27th.

Valley City – After an 0-9 season in 2006, and a 4-5 season in 2007, watch out for the Hi-Liners in 2008. They’re off to a 2-0 start, including a 26-7 win over Dickinson Trinity … a team they got blanked by in 2007, 28-0.
