Shanley over Trinity by 20
VC over Central Cass in a close game
St Mary's over Kindred by 24
Wop over Beulah by 8

From what I've seen the last 3 weeks I think St Mary's is the best team from the West.
I think VC needs to get healthy, they are banged up.
I think Beulah lacks a good enough air attack to be able to come back from behind.
I think Shanley is peaking and under rated.
Wahpeton is also flying under the radar and pretty good.

We will see how it shakes out. Hope a couple of the games are closer than I predict.

Shanley over Trinity by 20. Yep !
VC over Central Cass in a close game. If VC only has 1 healthy RB, tough to win a close one !
St. Mary's over Kindred by 24. Could be 42 !
Wop over Beulah by 8. Wishful thinking !

Beulah
VC
Wahpeton
Shanley
St. Mary's

.......

Any of these teams can eat any of the others.

VC has a couple injuries to starting players. I'm assuming the other teams are dealing with injuries also.

I was impressed with St. Mary's run D. VC had one long run in the 4th quarter. Before that, it seemed like their longest run was like 8-10 yards. Lots of runs for no gain. That doesn't happen often.

Also was surprised at how much of a rush St. Mary's could put on VC's punter. First two punts almost blocked. Third one blocked, return for TD.

Shanley 34
Trinity 14

St. Mary's 45
Kindred 6

VC 38
Casselton 14

VC might be hurt the most in the secondary against CC who likes to spread it out. Haven't seen any CC this year but figure they like getting the ball to Breshnhan in space. 30-20 VC
Basically tune up games for Shanely and St. Mary's in my opinion. 42-14 Shanely, 36-0 St marys
I think Zarak will do enough to get wahp to the next round. 32-28 Wahp

Quarterfinal Predicitions

Shanley 42, Trinity 13
Shanley is just too physical for Trinity. Game will be over by the 1st half unless Trinity can strike with their passing game.

Valley City 34, Central Cass 14 (will be there)
Bresnahan is very elusive (reminds me of Barry Sanders and that is going out on a limb) and will give Valley City issues. If the Hi-Liners defense can contain him, it'll be a long day at Hanna Field for Central Cass. Rodriguez, VC's O-Line, and the health of Allen will be a key factor as the Hi-Liners. I don't see Central Cass winning their first playoff game since 1980 this year as Valley City will pull away sometime in the 2nd or 3rd quarter.

St. Mary's 55, Kindred 6
St. Mary's will steamroll Kindred in this David vs. Goliath matchup.

Beulah 28, Wahpeton 21 (Game of the Week)
This will be a great game. Containing Zarak will be key and I think the Miners will do just enough of that to defeat the Huskies on the road.

Kindred is in the postseason after starting out the year losing at home to Richland (#3 9-man). I honestly didn't expect to see Kindred in the AA postseason.

Combination of improvement and an East region that lost some talent or? Haven't seen much east region teams except for Wahp and Shanely.

Actually Kindred not only lost to Richland, they got shutout. Kindred also lost to Cavalier last year in their season opener in which Cavalier won the 9-man title handily.

I've only seen Central Cass, Wahpeton, and Enderlin/Maple Valley play in the East, but I've seen the others on the WDAY highlights and from various fans.

After Shanley, Wahpeton, and Central Cass, the East was pretty weak. Lisbon was brutal again, Grafton was very young, Enderlin/Maple Valley lacked depth, and Hillsboro/Central Valley just moved up from Class A.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Kindred up 36-18 in the 4th against Central Cass and lost 42-36?

Central Cass came back to win 22-20 after trailing 20-0 midway through 2nd Quarter.

Shanley also defeated Dickinson Trinity 41-7.

What happened to VC lately?? I really thought they had most solid team this year. Over confident in that last game maybe?

Injuries and a lack of offensive diversity.

Looks like we will see a private school in the AA title game for the seventh straight year I believe.? Don't have a problem with it, just making a very astute observation.

Is that really an "astute" observation?

Would have loved to see Carrington back in AA for the year. I know their enrollment is small, and they're heavy on seniors, but this years team would be serious contenders.

Enrollment says "A", not "AA", and why Carrington and/or not Park River .

My guess on the comment is because Carrington was in "AA" lately whereas Park River has been in "A" and never been in "AA".

Really? They'd be no better than a 4 seed in the West and possibly a 3 in the East. Serious contenders ? I believe they dropped a co-op in order to move down to class A .
