I agree this will be best game of first round in my opinion.

I think Shanley and Grafton win fairly easy at home.

Was bishop Ryan missing anyone when they lost to kindred this year? Basically why I'm picking the upset on that game right now.

Well I know this right now...Fugere was hurt two weeks ago and didn't play last night in their 13-9 loss to St. Mary's

Indy 5 stated in a different thread that Ryan had some guys hurt and Bachmeier was healthy when they played early in the year. Sounded like Ryan won the game statically, but had a punt blocked deep, had some other turnovers, and let Bachmeier run back a kickoff return. Kindred only had a total of 118 rushing and passing yards, but still managed to score 28 points.

I'm picking Ryan, because I just watched Valley City and I wasn't real impressed with their decision making in the Grafton game. But I do think this one will be a close game.

I watched VC-Grafton and wasn't real impressed with either team. Valley looked very predictable on offense and Grafton seemed to keep beating their head against a wall when VC was letting a lot of other things be opened up. Everytime Grafton went to a doubles set, they had success, yet they only used it about 4 or 5 times.

I guess it was the only time I saw VC play, but I've watched Grafton about 5 times. Grafton really went away from their traditional offensive game when they played VC. They were trying a lot more quick out passes and sweeps than they normally do. I don't know if something on tape made them think they could beat VC to the outside or what?

Fugere from Bishop Ryan did not play against St. Mary's. Should be back for playoffs. Hearing about that game though, it sounds like Ryan really had a lackluster game. Fugere is a complete game-changer for the Ryan offense. He is definately one of the top rb's in AA football. I saw against Beulah he did not play the first half but had nearly 140 yds in the second half alone. It will be interesting to see if he plays against VC. If so, I would have a hard time picking against Ryan and would make them a two touchdown favorite. Without him...going to be a dog fight!

Yeah his speed definitely makes him a major threat in that spread. If he's back for playoffs it will be a huge boost to their offense, which, remember has been averaging 30 points a game throughout the season.

I'm guessing it was because the VC kids are big, hard hitting kids in the middle. Not saying Grafton couldn't take them because they have big kids to but I bet they liked the match up on the outside rather then up the middle. Send the quarterback up the middle he's going to get beat up a lot more.

This is what I'm talking about. Valley was loading up the middle yet Grafton never spread them out. When they did, it worked. Then they'd go right back to having everyone bunched inside.

You think Carrington will score 22 points against Graftons defense? From what I hear they can't throw the ball at all so they are pretty easy to figure out.

Fugere busts 29 yard run. Down to VC's 34.

BR drive down even more easily than VC. They are at the 15 of VC, Fugere runs to 7 yd line.

Now 2nd and goal from 5.

Fugere no gain.

3rd and goal from 5.

Austin Agle (sp) TD from 5 yards out.

8-7 VC
