I don't know as much about the older players on that list but I have to think there is room for Matt Anderson on this team.  He was the District 4 Senior Athlete of the year in 2006 and one of the toughest players to guard I've ever seen/competed against.  I have to think someone on that list could be taken off for Anderson but I am not sure on the history of Cavalier basketball players.

"He didn't say that Ethan should be starting for Morehart, he just said he should be on the team which he should be.  He is the schools leading three point shooter and one of the top scorers in school history as well.  What do you have against Ethan Evenson?"

It's nothing "against" Ethan Evenson but in the long and storied tradition of Hillsboro basketball he's not among the top 15.  That doesn't mean that he's not a good player just not as good as the others Hillsboro has produced.  One thing that needs to be remembered - Hillsboro had great teams with great players.  Some "role' players for those Hillsboro teams would have been great scorers for other schools, but Hillsboro was more about winning.  Another thing that bothers me about your comments "he is the schools leading three point shooter and one of the top scorers in school history as well".  I have seen plenty of good (not great) players who scored a bunch of points basically because there were no other options, or the teams they played on were so poor that an o.k. kid started playing varsity as a freshman, and through the course of his career they end up high on the scoring chart.  Ask anyone from Hillsboro or from anywhere around there that's over the age of 25 what kind of teams Hillsboro has had recently, compared to what they were, and you'll here that there is NO comparrison!!!

Here are some old school players from North that were pretty good in tlhe '70s!!!  Todd Bakken,  6'7 post Class of '77(state champ, UND Star), Mike Wacker,6'10 post,University of Texas star, I think he was at North in the late 70s his dad was Jim Wacker, football coach at NDSU and U of M... Eric Larson,6'3 guard  Class of'76, great shooter, star at Concordia... Craig Flaagan, 6'7 post, Class of '75, 3 year starter at Concordia, current South girls coach....  I dont remember many North players from the '80s but North was not very good that decade.

Thanks for reminding me of these players...you know, come to think of it, Fargo North really hasn't produced a ton of really well known, good players, has it?  Going way back there was Chipper Litten (I think he went to North) and Barry Mayer, but he was more of a football player, but I do remember he played some basketball but probably shouldn't be mentioned here.  Are there any more that you can remember?

Elroy Konnig, Mark Dahl, Steve Connelly, Kent Jacobson... just a few I can remember from the late '60 and early '70s,  Your right, North High has not had a great deal of super players.  its fun to think back about some of these guys..

Chip Litton was a north side kid but went to Fargo Central, Barry Mayer was a stud athlete and played football for the U of Minnesota

Matt was a great player - and I debated between him and Watson - as they were both the same type of player - and for their era's both considered the best athlete to come out of Cavalier at their respective times. I think Matt should probably be on this list - but I just see him more as a football standout - like Watson was - than a BB standout - but he is definitely deserving of being top 15 in Cav history.

i didn't get a chance to see bb in high school, but, my guess is that because of the position he played, he was a little more consistent than florhaug night-in and night-out. rf was pretty decent when he was able to create off the dribble and move with the basketball, but his jumper was touch and go and it really abandoned him on a couple of nights. nights when he was on, he was a force in class b basketball (which i suppose could be said about a lot of players).
