Best District 4 Player of the past 10 years

Postby 3499 » Wed Mar 04, 2009 9:51 pm

Who is the best player from each district 4 school of the past 15 years?

My picks would be:
Boys
Minto - Lee Gujates ... could flat out put the ball in the hoop
Midway - Ryan McLean ... great athlete, never had much around him .. not much for basketball tradition Phil Schanliac could be there soon
Fordville - Kyle Omlie ... Great Scorer
Park River - Something Bell ... can't remember his first name but let the Aggies to state in 2000
Grafton - toss up between Chad Berg and Anthony Kliniske ... i'd pick AK just cause he seemed to care more about winning than stats
Drayton - Dan Halcrow ... hardly ever went left but never had too
St Thomas - again not much basketball tradition .. i know they had a good team in 95 or 96 but don't know any players off the team
Valley - see st thomas
Edinburg - Something Olafson from late 90s or early 00s ... didn't win much but the team usually scored in the 70's or 80s and he was their leading scorer
Cavalier - Brady Trenbeath ... not the greatest shot selection but probably the best athlete in the last 15 years
Walhalla - Warren Eagen ... great shooter
North Border - Tanner Carpenter ... great floor leader for a team that went to state in 07

Girls (some of the towns i won't even have a guess on)
Midway - Kami Winger ... 1000 point scorer for UND
Minto - Hayley Schanliac ... one of the best girls players i've ever seen
Fordville - Andrea Brodina ... no one could guard her
Grafton - Jaime Lamourex ... led the spoilers to the state a tourney in 97
Park River - no idea
Drayton - again no idea
St Thomas - Sam Baldwin ... extremely fundamentally sound basketball player
Valley - again no idea
Edinburg - no idea
Cavalier - last name that comes to mind would be Maggie Hunt but there could have been betters in the 90's
Walhalla - Shoena Soebe ... same thing as Cavalier
North Border - Hailey Longtin ... still playing .. great scorer

let me know what you guys think

That's a lovely fur you're wearing. Perhaps I could find you some slippers made from the skins of innocent and defenseless baby seals!

Minto - Dean Dvorak
Midway - David Schneck, David Dickson, Ryan McLean
Fordville - Keith Omlie, Brett Omdahl, Thomas Dryburgh
Grafton - Chad Berg, AK, Wade Herbel
Park River - Tyler Moe
Drayton - Dan Halcrow, Tyler Gebur
St. Thomas - Paul Hensrud? I don't know much about St. Thomas
Cavalier - Todd Olson
North Border - Dennis Delue, Warren Eagen, Tanner Carpenter, Mike Meagher

I'd put Casey Linstad, Fordville class of 1994 and Grant Skibiki, Fordville class of 1995 up there as well.

In the past ten years I would have to say the best player from District 4 would be Brady Trenbeath.
