The Hochstetlers from Walford were all darn good players, the Lavins from Hatton were all pretty succesful, the whole Warcken crew from Lamoure area have all been very good, the Mauchs from Hankinson and the Waters brothers from Hillsboro - those are just a couple off the top of my head.

Should probably mention the Feeny's since mom is Shelly Hughes who played at Kansas.

Some very impressive names on this list. One that I don't think any other family can top is both a Mr. and Miss. basketball from the same family. Rob and Brenna Stefonowicz from Divide County managed to do this in the late 80's and early 90's. Both had two state births and went on to play at NDSU.

The Wilkens, Center, ND two brothers (forget thier names) but Uncle Brent wasnt to shabby either

I totally forgot a great athletic family not only in basketball but football...the Sheldon's from Regent. All of them were all-staters and were known for football, but were great basketball players.

yes the waters brothers were very good...Randy played in that Epic Hillsboro-Epping game in '77 and Doug was Hillsboro's only All-American his senior year...Doug's kids are gonna be studs too he has a freshman already playing and another in 7th and another in 5th

The Lindahls from Cando are a good choice. The two boys Evan Jonathon both went to play college ball.

Just wait a couple more years when everyone has heard about their younger brother, too. He started as a freshmen this year and played well.

The Lindals from Cando are pretty good.
Evan(played at UND)
Jon(played at VCSU)
Grant(really good young player)
Mark:dad (not sure where but i'm pretty sure he played college ball)

The Klabos from Mayville were awesome.

Darin was 3 time All Region played briefly at UND
Chuck had a wonderful career them played football at NDSU
Leah was all-state and played for NDSU

A lot of the Great Mayville players of the 90's weren't Mayville natives. However there was a lot of amazing players from athletic families on those teams.

Jacobson
Swift
Klabo
Kraft

All had 2 or more stellar athletes in the family.

Surprised no one has mentioned the Maus family from Hatton.

John - 1,800 career pts, 2-time All-state, Mr BB Finalist, went to 3 National Tourneys at MSU
Lisa - over 2,000 career pts, Tri-Miss BB, 1st team All-American and National Tourney MVP in leading U-Mary to a National Championship
Tom - over 1000 career points. Not sure if he was was all-state or not.

Two younger sisters (Trish & Jennifer) were also both good, but not sure about any stats or awards. I do know Jen played at Jamestown College.

Yeah, and oldest brother Bret played for Finley-Sharon until they "moved" to MPCG for his senior year. He then went on to play at Concordia.

Their dad also played basketball at NDSU.

The Jacobson's have Nick Played 4 years at Utah and now plays in Europe. They have Ben Jacobson played at UND now coaches at UNI. You have Tom Jacobson played at UND with Ben. Adam Jacobson played for shanley then went to UND. Neil Jacobson played for Bison back in the day also.

Yeah, they are first cousins. Nick & Adam have an older brother Jesse who was pretty good, and Ben & Tom have another brother & a sister who I believe were also pretty good players.

The Bearstails(Wylee,Whitney,Wesley,Jarvis,and Kristin) are first cousins with Christine Miller from New Town(Her mom's maiden name is Bearstail) :shock: . Miller's dad was a first team all-stater 2 years in a row in Montana. That's a big family full of all-stater's

I was wondering if someone was going to mention the haagensons. How do you leave them out, they frustrated so many coaches in their time. lol Anyhow, the bearstails, yeah they were good but they were the coaches pets. How about the archambeaus, and the parisiens. They might not be the haagensons but they do deserve to be mentined.
