I see Dave and Craig Nelson were listed, but Dave's sister Janelle led her Hillsboro team to a state championship, then continued playing at Mayville State. She married a Hochstetler from Wolford, their daughter Alexis has been extremely successful down in Florida and is now playing college ball as well. I'm sure her little brothers have grown up with a basketball in their hands as well and will see success.

Agree on the Hagler "tree"...

Tie the Komrosky clan onto this one, Tanner Komrosky's mom was a Hagler and his dad also played college ball.

Tom Erdmann (father) and Eric Erdmann (son).

Tom Erdmann is pretty much a legend in Minot, and still has the 2nd highest scoring single game in Class A history. He average 30 ppg his senior year ('69) and that was a Class A record for sometime.

Anyone following ND basketball this past year knows about Eric Erdmann. He led Fargo North to a state championship in 2006, and just this past year help put U of Mary on the DII map. He was all-region (NSIC and RMAC) first team, all-conference (NSIC) first team, 4th all-time in scoring as well as 5th all time in rebounding. Terrific player inside and outside.

Some Fort Yates families from a long time ago:

Eaglestaff - brothers Bob and Darrell from the '70's. Bob played at BYU and UND; don't recall if Darrell played college ball.

Archambault - father Wyman ('70's) and son Russ ('90's). Wyman played with the Eaglestaff's and was a key in Fort Yates' triple overtime state title win over Minot in 1973 for its first Class A title - a classic game. Russ left home at 13 to live with an aunt in Minessota (?) where he played high school ball. A superb point guard and passer, he made the varsity at the University of Minnesota but got kicked off the team by Tubby Smith. Ended up playing NAIA at Huron University in S. D. where he won national honors.

Russ played at Bismarck High and Tubby Smith was not coaching at Minnesota at the time Russ played there. He was involved in the cheating scandal that went got Haskins fired.....Great player but you need to do some fact checking....

How about the Molander family from Divide County. I remember they had 4 kids who played Scott, Shane, and Craig were the boys and LaDawn was the girl. Scott, Shane, and LaDawn all played in State Championships and were all-staters. Craig was an all region player. The dad Gary was a great player in his day as well.

I would say the Heisler clan from the 1980s in Devils Lake could be part of the discussion. Doyal, Desi, Doreen

Agreed. Add in Chelsey Frydenlund who played at EGF in Minnesota. Also believe that the Heisler currently at North Star is related to that group.

Bentz family from Grant County probably deserves some recognition here on the girls side.
Ashley Bentz- 2,000 points, Miss Basketball finalist, senior athlete of the region
Sydney Bentz- 1,600 points, senior athlete of the region
Lexi Bentz- 1,400 points, led state championship team in: points, rebounds, and assists.

3 state appearances total and one state title. The Mom coached the varsity through all of this. Great decaded for the Bentz family and Grant County.

A little heavy handed there, Baller. In Old Baller's defense, there is a NYTimes article that would lead a reader to believe that he did move to MN at the age of thirteen and play his high school ball there. The article is obviously wrong. I believe he played his last year or two in Sartell MN. He was a MN Mr. Basketball Finalist is 1996.

Henningsgards from CV.

Jessica (2-time All State) 1 Year college bball at Lake Region
Taylor (2-time All-State) 4 years College BBall (uMary, Lake Region, Dickinson State)
Kennedy (2-time All-State ) 4 years college bball (Lake Region, VCSU)
Kyle (1-time all-state, State Champ 2017, hit game-winner) 2 years college Bball @ Lake Region
Carson (3-time all-state, 2 state champs, 3rd Mr. Basketball) signed to Lake Region
Ross (1-time all-state) College basketball @ Crookston

Taylor & Kennedy played in national tournament for LRSC and each played in the NAIA national tournaments for their respective teams. All five played in the State B tournament. Kyle knocked down the game winning shot for the 2017 state championship. Carson played on both state championship teams, one as the sixth man and the other as the starting PG. His career speaks for itself and is fresh in everyone's mind. All 5 of them reached at least 1200 points. Carson wound up the family leader with just under 1800 for his career and obviously had it cut short.
