best runs - Trinity (Four Winds is workin on a pretty good one)
best team not to make state - Bowman with Tivis, Pauley, Breen, and co.

as for team is tough, alot of schools had good 1-2 teams (PBK, Bottineau) Watford has to be up there this year entering state 24-0 is worth a mention. Parshall with the Packs.

I'd have to say the May-Port teams. No one could touch them. Trinity can't even be in this conversation because they weren't even the best team in 2004. New Rockford-Sheyenne would have to be a second to the May-Port teams. They made it to state 3 years in a row and had like 4 1000 point scorers on those teams-wow.

Here's how I rank them in the 2000's

1. 2002 MPCG
2. 2003 MPCG
3. 2001 North Border
4. 2000 Oak Grove
5. 2004 Dickinson Trinity
6. 2005 New Rockford Shyenne
7. 2007 Parshall
8. 2008 Grafton

Trinity has had the best run. Seven straight and eight out of ten years going to state...Two state championships, three runner ups, two third place finishes and one consolation. They have always won two games or more at the tourney.
No whiners allowed! The journey is the reward!

I totally forgot about Oak Grove in 2000. 28-0 and they didn't come even close to being beat. I remember watching them score 45 points in the first quarter against North Sargent. They took all of their starters out after that quarter and still won the game by 80 points. It was a really well-balanced team that had good height. Tough to beat.

I believe the Oak Grove team would be #1 followed by 2002 MPCG at a close second. Are there any other teams that didn't win state championships that might deserve mentioning??

When I saw him play he had no problem putting it down. You probably saw some different games then I did.

maybe your definition of throw it down is different then mine but when i think throw it down i think more power not flash, and he put some power behind some of his dunks

not really...i've seen him try to go up and dunk uncontested and get "stuffed" by the rim...not exactly what i call power

I went to every game that year and I would not call him a power dunker by any means...I would call him a power dunker now after he has put on some weight and some muscle.
The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.

I dont know about you but i dont know many 6' 9" guys that get "stuffed" by the rim. He didnt have much higher to jump considering his arms were probably close to 3 feet long. The games I saw that he put it down in, the backboards were shaking pretty good.
