Twenty Five years ago coach and son Butterfield brought home the trophy from the State B. Where does Hettinger 1982 team rank in the all-time top teams of Class B? I say ahead of Linton 1982-3 but behind Oak Grove of 2001?

Do you mean Linton 1983-1984?

Divide County won the state title in 82, Hettinger was runner up.

Hettinger won in 83.  They had Ueker and Butterfield and some role players.  Definitely not a top 10 team of all time in Class B.  Top 25 probably.  The B has been around a long time.

I think what makes a memorable team is the style they play and the heart and emotion they play with.  While the Hettinger team may not be top 10, they were certainly exciting.

Matchups make memorable games too, I remember the excitement of Car's Linton Lions, vs. Hunkors Newberg Eagles, led by Chris Lamoureax.  What a great matchup that was, too bad Steve Hall got hurt early on in the game.

Actually, I'm pretty sure Edmore was runner-up.

You are right. Edmore was runner-up. They lost 39-35.
