Well folks the Central Knights went up north and came away with 4 unofficial wins in the jamboree. They beat Holy Family, Alexandria, Little Falls, and Detroit Lakes. Here are a couple observations:
The knights are:
Fast
Deep
Skilled
Gritty
During the Holy Family game it got very chippy. Not to worry, Central held their own. I believe there were only 3 goals scored against over 4 games. I didn't focus on the score as much as the way we played. Johnny Simonson showed why he should crack the lineup. He was impressive early on. Seth Lang had a solid 2 game performance. The only puck that got behind him was a turnover in front. The forwards worked well together, better when the line of Plutowski, Gust, and Spicer was reunited from last year. Casey Purpur showed that he still has a nose for the net. I think the line of Hatt, Purpur, and Moody will be a force this year. Further, the physical play of Craig Jones was fun to watch.
To be fair, my friend pointed out that 2 years ago Central went to Warroad/Roseau and won 3 out of 4 and went on to win only 3 games that season. There is still a lot of work to do but I am optimistic.
