linton might be known for 9-man but since they moved to 11, i'm thinking there might have to be someone else take their place. right now napoleon seems to have some decent kids and i think their team was young last year (their rb wirt graduated, but i'm not sure who else).

they spent most of the year ranked no. 1, but to be honest, i can't comment on how they were over the last couple of years.

It's tough to have leave West Fargo out in AAA.  In my opinion, they are the class AAA football school of the future.  These guys put out huge kids every, at least for the last 5 years or so, and with the high school growing, it's tough to see them getting worse at all.

AAA- Fargo South in the East and Bismarck in the West
Fargo South has had powerhouse teams throughout their existence.
                same goes for Bismarck

AA- Trinity has been an absolute force
This is a little bit of a gray area because while Trinity was class A in the old system they were medicore at best.

A - Watford City  they continue to produce winning teams on a consistent basis.
In the 70's-80's Watford played in seven consecutive title games.
They have been in 14 title games and they have won it 7 times.
9 man- New England won three straight in the mid 90's, one in 88 and were runner-up             in 85 up until this past season they were a threat to make a run every year.  It             is to bad it was their last.

Linton should get a special category having won an 11 man title and 4 9-man titles plus runner up 3 times

TP in the modern day era I'd have to say West Fargo should be considered. I'll throw in Velva-Sawyer, Cavalier, Trinity, Stanley, Linton, and Harvey in no particular order

History is what determined my list.

The information age has everyone thinking that five years ago was a long time ago.

Back when I walked 50 miles to school up hill both ways in the driving snow Watford City and Bismarck had good football teams.  West Fargo has been very good but they haven't been able to sustain that over three plus decades.

If your going by history then how come you don't have Shanley in AAA?

going with history The Absaraka Crows 6 man team held  the Sevea Township title an unprecendented 13 straight weeks back in '62

The reason Shanely wasn't included was I was relying on my memory and I can only remember the 80's.  The other classes i had some resources available.
PC- no it wasn't dad.

One time I quarterbacked half of my grade's boys to an unprecidented 59 straight losses to the other half of our grade at recess! But the real story was... One time i quarterbacked half of my grade's boys to an upset win over the other half our our grade breaking a 59 game winning streak! (their qb was sick that day!)

I think I got that game on video.  Were you the one with the hat and hooded pull-over?  Great game, awesome to see the underdog get the win!:D

Linton played this past season with 11 players on the field instead of 9.  What does that mean i dont know.  and why would u even say them. They are nothing without Kyle Carr.

This is best football school.  Not just this year.  Linton played 11-man this year and has won an 11-man title.  But they have also been dominate in 9-man.

if you guys want to talk about you guys should bring up the zeeland vikings..  i think they won a title in 77' and were always contenders until they lost the numbers in school.

They cheated I think they had Doctors on those teams.  And they won back to back titles in 77and 78 scoring 52-23 and 52-0.

i dont think velva is that great of a football school, they are an all around athletic school.  dont give me wrong i give them all the credit in the world but if it wasn't for Sandy velva wouldnt be anyware close 2 what they are.  You also have to take into consideration that why velva is so good every year is that they can fill every spot with a decent player.  they might not have the standouts with every team but a team with no distinguishable weaknesses is very hard 2 stop

I will have to say Cavalier in A and AA. When Cavalier was in A with the Harvey's and Velva's they would make it to the semi's 8 times out of 9 in the 90's. They won a class B title in '87 and got runner up in '79, '85, '86. They have missed the playoffs twice in the past 29 years. have won over 280 games during that time and only lost 79. To me that is very good. In '98 when they went to AA they got to the semi's and got beat by Watford City and the following year got back to the Semi's to lose again to Lisbon. Next two years they would get eliminated in the first round but after that starting in 2002 they started a 47 game winning streak that was ended when they lost to Velva in the Title game. In the 2000's they won state 3 times in '02, '03, '04. To me that is a great football school.

Actually,

Velva's football tradition dates long before Coach Sandy.  You are very aware of the Velva football teams from the 1980s, etc.  I can honestly say that there is a lot of pride in the program.   Coach Sandy took the program to the next level. Prior to this little stretch of football immortality that Velva is in, they were always making noise in whatever division they were in, they just could not win that big one (except for 1983).

Andy, you are correct that Velva is an overall athletic tradition, but to say that the program is nothing without Sandy is completely inaccruate.
