The hard part is that many players didn't get statewide notority until college.
Dave Marion from Century for instance, I didn't hear anything about him until he played for the Bison.
Bismarck has had Dressler and Eslinger in recent years but with their rich history I'm sure there are dozens of players that deserve mention.
St.Mary's had Clooten and Schafer. But again a long history of great FB.

maybe i need to be more specific? any honors for Erhard as a player? All-County? All-City? On any given state championship team there are dozens of 'players'

I'd say it is fair to include him. Nice work Tiger Pride. Which archives did you have to peruse to find pull that one?
Kyle Steffes - Trinity

Also from Trinity you could put Joe Volk on there. Probably the best linebacker ever from Trinity.

I hate to say this and Volk was no slouch, but I think Jay Wandler was a better all around linebacker than Volk. It's hard to make statements like that because they played at different times and on different teams, but I would say Wandler is #1 in Trinity history at the Linebacker position.

Cavalier - Brady Trenbeath, Matt Anderson, Allan Sundby, Tim Oksendahl, Rob Hunt, Wayne Sampson, Mitch Greenwood, Sam Lucier
I know there are more and I'm sure someone from Cavalier will put them on there but those are the ones I know of.

didnt wandler get signed by the vikings and made a practice team or something?
and Kyle Steffas is easily the best RB from ND... if he doesnt get drafted, he will get signed as a free agent this year

I think that during the 1982 NFL strike that he played a couple games for them or something like that

Someone that definately needs to be mentioned is John Werner out of Linton. Guided Linton to a second place finish in 1979 and then went on to play at Minot St. where he had an outstanding career. After Minot St. he went and tried out for professional football up in Canada.
