Region 1 Predictions

Postby Run4Fun2009 » Sun May 15, 2011 12:36 pm

What are your thoughts on this region? I know that I will have a more in-depth look into EACH event after Monday...so you can find that on here by Friday...but feel free to post your predictions.

I will start out with the only thing that I think can be determined RIGHT NOW and that is the Team Titles:

Boys - Lisbon (too much depth in field events...enough to get by in the running)
Girls - MWL (tight battle between 4 teams - Kindred, MWL, CC and Lisbon; but depth should be the big difference)

Interesting. I agree with boys, but not so much with girls. MWL ran away with Wild Rice, but if you look at results closer and add in non-Wild Rice athletes, ALOT of those points are not there. MWL is built for smaller meets, where they can use their numbers to load up every event.

If you add in Lisbon, Oakes, and NC, things will be different. For example, MWL will not place 3 in the 100, 4 in the 200, 4 in the 100H, 4 in the 300H, place in the top 3 in every relay, 6 in the PV, 4 in TJ like the did at Wild Rice. In fact, Wettstein and Sakry may be the only MWL girls that score in the top 4 in any track event.

I agree that it will be close between Kindred, MWL and Lisbon for the girls and I have no predictions for the girls team totals yet. Depends on who's heathly and what coaches decide to do for events.

I would put CC girls ahead of NC girls... they beat them in the district.
