Alex Backlund and Taylor Baumler from Fargo Shanley (both are Freshmen)

Backlund is one of the top runners in the 1600 and 3200.
Baumler should be a force in the 800...look out for Shanley's 4x8 relay with these two on it.

watched Kira Larson soph from Fargo north break a 27 yr old record in the girls high jump last night at the Class A state indoor meet at NDSU. Record was 5-6, she jumped 5-7 on her first attempt. Pretty impressive this early and she probably hasn't had much track practice coming off her state bb championship.

If we are talking about the best sophomore throwers I would have to say Jaden Friedt of BHS. Only freshman thrower to score in class A throwing last year at state

Alex Yanosko, sophomore qb for the Minot team also a good jumper, watch out for him, with no training he scratched 2 state qualifying triples.. also Kimani Benjamin, very strong 400 runner, been progressing all year. One more, Josh Pizzo, new kid from California heard he has a 10.8 100m dash.
