No, I just wasn't really any good as an underclassman and wasn't a contributor until last year. Ryan Benke hasn't state qualified since freshman year because of injuries, but if he is healthy this year he will be the fastest from Jamestown. He blew out his hammy right away outdoor as a soph, missed the rest of the year. Tried running a few meet last year but could only go 24.5-24.7 in the 200 so he shut down again for the rest of the year. He was looking to be a strong player and defnitely back to old form this offseason but now he's battling another (minor) injury and will probably miss all of indoors. Come outdoor time, Benke will be a major player again though in ND Track.

vikingfan03 wrote:ps. the best time i could find for you is a 56. and a couple less than satisfactory times in the 55

My worst time I ran last year was my first 400 at the Karlgaard meet

Boys 400 Meter Dash

Name Yr School Finals

1 Wohl, Alex 12 MINOT 52.37
2 Marquez, Johnny 11 BISMARCK 52.58
3 Beaudoin, Calen 11 DICKINSON 53.38
4 Johnson, Chris 12 MINOT 54.40
5 Swanson, William JAMESTOWN 54.84

Which was then my seed for the Shanley meet where I ran 53.6, which was just posted. I don't know what results YOU were looking at, because that was my worst time last year. You quite possibly must have been looking at two years ago, when I admit I wasn't any good. Your comment on the 55 especially makes me think that, seeing as I placed indoor at the WDA 55 last year.

And that 8th place I find to be personally not where I placed, because I was in the lane right next to Walth (who got 3rd) and thought I had possibly beat him through the line because we came together so close. But again that's just how it goes with hand timing, I'm sure I've benefited more than one time from it so it all comes back.

Regardless, I find it kind of silly that you seem to have something against me. If the 'vikings' in your name stands for Valley, you better be either Moritz or Engelhard if you're trying to demean me.

Ohlhauser has been doing a track running and lifting program with the century kids all winter, I don't think he will be coming into the track season out of shape. Look for him as one of the top finalists in the 400. He was the only sophomore to run with 3 seniors in the 4 x 4 and he was running 51.56 last year. I would say look out Smart, Ohlhauser has your back. Welk is out of the running after tearing his ACL this winter, I don't see him being a contender.

Are you kidding me Smart ran over 2.5 seconds faster than Olhouser last year. Not taking anything away from Olhouser but he will not threaten Smart.

Yeah, now that you say it, i did realize that Smart was eating his quad deckers a lot faster than everybody else at McDonalds, but 2.5 seconds faster?!?!?! That's sketchy, Sewersnatch.

Uetz had a sinus infection, but he'll run.
And yes, there are a bunch of Red River kids dropping out of track, including some sprinters.

Tyler Gefroh can't do track because of his leg injury and rumor is that Chris Dingle and Ben Prout are not doing track either this year

1. The Quad Stacker is from Burger king not from mcdonalds
2. Since you are from century i doubt you see smart eat
3. Smart ran 48.92 Olhouser ran 51.56 . I take it you are not in calculus because that would be 2.64 seconds

Well with all you knowing your track smarts, or think so, it will be fun to see who comes up right. My vote is on a number of kids, I may be bias but Century does have some good kids coming into the season,my pick for short runs Garret jacobs, and my guts going with Ohlhauser for the 400, it will be a battle back and forth with Smart. I don't know if you seen Ohlhauser play football but he is getting nothing but stronger and better, he is quick. time will tell this spring. Hopefully it will be a good one weather wise too.

It will not go back and forth between him and Smart. How ever if you wait a year Olhouser will be a top seed along with Welk and Mann.

I don't know if you heard but Welk tore his ACL in basketball so I am pretty sure he won't be running this spring, which is to bad he is a good athletic.

Hey Smallball - i think your comment about my comments are kinda stupid... I personally know the people that work at macdonalds and their getting real mad about your punishment towards them.

First thoughts

Definitely most impressed with Neumiller. Wow.

Biggest disappointments - the 400 times and Stein in the triple, losing to another Century guy.

The kid he lost to, Drew Wiseman, is a freshman. I can see him improving to 40+ this year. He looked good. Yeah, Neumiller dominated short distance, should be a good season for him if he doesn't get injured

If i had to guess he was at mcdonalds pounding down some quad stackers.

JK

Despite century winning all the field events only Meidinger had an impressive effort.

You could say the same about any BHS event. Or any one else at any other meet. Obviously the marks of people aren't going to be outstanding (besides Neumiller in this case)... It was these guys' first meet.

I wouldn't exclude Barnes 800 either - 2:04 first meet indoors puts him far ahead of his pace last year

160 meter track vs 200 meter track makes a difference plus having Uetz to run with. Smart was at WDA but in street clothes - prolly not enough practices
