Honestly you go and run a 4:18 of w.e. 1600 then you can talk crap about other people. Also your previous comment didnt make sense about running an 800 when u cant finish a 5k? If my math is correct (which my calculus teacher would back me up) the 800 is well shorter than a 5000 so what does not finishing a 5k have to do with an 800?

..........You obviously are oblivious to what I'm trying to say..........so drop this conversation please.

Random q. inbetween all these heated discussions..
Do you think Randy Tardif will contribute individually this year in sprints?

I'm aware of that, but what I'm saying is that there are a lot of similarities between a 5k and an 800. For starters, almost everybody in the 800 runs cross. Also, the last half-mile of a 5k is almost an all-out sprint anyway.
I can see why anybody who hasn't ran either might not know what the effects are, but I have, and both of those races hurt like a mo-fo and I can easily see somebody not finishing the race.

all im saying is how are you supposed to compete in the hardest event in track when you cant finish a simple 5k when your 94% done with the race.

Simple 5k? Oh man...........I should be a tour guide on this site. When we get to this post I would say "And this, folks, is wild ignorance in its dumbest form!" LOL Obviously you've never ran a 5k as a race before, or else you would have half an idea to not write such blasphemy.

well it sounds like you have the greatest running experience theman (sarcasm) and i said simple trying to make a point that when you run a 5k up to 3 miles the last .14 isn't that much.

the last sprint is meaningless if you already in top 5 position and you just stop and do nothing!

I hav ran both 5k and 800 and a 5k doesnt even compare to the pain of a 800! Ask anyone who has ran both events and u must b some kind of a RE-TARD to not put them in the same cateogory...in a 5k race when u r about to go all state and u hav 150 meters left and u can even crawl then u can finish...and if u cant finish then ur weak and u couldnt even last a lap at an 800 pace! BOOM ROASTED!

BOOM CONTRADICTION

First you say the 5k doesn't compare to the 800 but later you say that you would have an IQ under 70 (i put it in nicer terms) if you didnt put them in the same category. I take it you don't have to worry about being all state runner or else you wouldn't be making fun of someone who has run 4:18 for the 1600. Also considering Uetz has run 1:58 or so for the 800 im pretty sure he can handle the pace.

Oh man, where do I start?
First, just because you ran both the 800 and 5k does not mean you ran both correctly. There is a difference between a runner and runner that wants to be better, i.e., a runner that wants to be better can make any race hurt if ran properly.
Second, I have personally talked to the members about the races, as you most aptly suggested, and the results came back NOT in favor of your theory (ya know, the one that got you in trouble :D ).
Third, much can be said about what a human can do if they want something bad enough, so let me ask you this question: If he had the ability to finish the race, would he have done it? DDDUUUUHHH!!! You imply that he simply CHOSE to not finish, when in reality it WAS NOT physically possible. If you do not believe me, then you are the ignorant one, not I.
Cheers

My theory didn't get me in trouble my reference to low intelligence did!
but its an opinion and just to let u know the human mind will give up before ur body will...and i have ran the 800 at state and ran a 5k and even 10k very competitively.

4x400 and 4x800 will go to the demons.. they just have sooo many good runners that their next 4 in both relays would most likely place top 3 at state.. i have bhs winning both
