State Predictions

100m - Smith
200m - Smart
400m - Smart
800m - Uetz (seeing as barnes and miller didn't run at wda)
1600 - Osoaro
3200 - Osoaro
110h - Toddhunter
300h - Toddhunter
4x100 - BHS
4x200 - Century
4x400 - DHS
4x800- BHS
Shot - Qvale
Disc - Bradley
Jav - Malm
LJ - Lillejord
TJ - Lillejord
Pv - Lillejord
HJ - SInner

Didnt really go out on a limb on any of the open running. The 4x100 i think has to go to bismarck since RR wont run Toddhunter on theirs. I think if century had been on the inside of bismarck at WDA they could have taken them in the 4x2. Since Miller and Barnes didnt run at WDA i have to pick DHS in the 4x400 (they won with out their 2 best 400 guys). Bismarck still has the best group of 800 runners. The throws are all the favorites. Andy lillejord is the favorite in all three events i picked him in and i think he'll just keep getting better. And despite Sinner getting second in the HJ at wda i think he'll bounce back and win.

I don't really see anything that arguable, the only thing I would disagree on right away is I think that Red River will take the 4 x 200. I'm not sure on the 4 x 4, it depends on Miller and Barnes status, but I was impressed with Dickinson winning at WDA without Calen or Challis.

I'm very curious to see Smith, Smart, and Todhunter all battle it out in the 200. It is hard to pick a clear cut favorite. I think Smart has the fastest time, but head to head, Todhunter has beat Smart and Smith has beat Todhunter.

After watching Smart smoke that 49.19 i dont think anyone is gonna be able to touch him in a race over 200 meters. I heard his coach say he went through his 1st 200 in under 24

red river wins the team title i believe. and i think smith has to be the favorite in the 100 but tyler gefroh was close to beating smith at edc in the 100 so watch out for him. also i think red river will win the 4x100. even if toddhunter doesnt race that one. they still will have gefroh, ben prout, chris dingle, and im guessing elbe pope will replace toddhunter. Red River is a very good sprinting team with fast kids that could pull off some state titles this year.

red river is a good sprinting team yes you cant argue that point...but i dont know if pope is good enough to hold off to a first place finish

i personally don't see RR winning state... if you really think about it other then hurdles,100,200 short relays and jav they are very thin.... that leaves the 400,800,1600,3200,4X400,4X800,Long Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, High Jump,Shot Put, and discuss... thats a lot of events to not have many points in those evens.... in those events all i could find is a 7 seed and a 5 seed... i realize that they are going to be able to score 80-90 points in the sprints hurdles and jav but 90 points doesn't win state... they are really going to need some other people to step up in order in win state

if im not mistaken, i believe that Stein of century dominated HJ at WDA and jumped higher than sinner ever did at 6 4". Stein also couldve easily won TJ if he didnt scratch his first 2 jumps. His second jump was estimated to be in the mid 45s, so dont be surprised if he wins those events at state.

Sinner actually went 6'5 indoor earlier this year. I will give stein props for winning at wda though. As for the triple jump. Estimated to be in the mid 45s? By who? Andy lillejord had almost a 2 foot PR so i will say he has the most potential to win state.

Lol, indoors doesn't really matter. Vanderpan jumped 6' 5" indoors and ended up with 6' 2" at the end of last year in outdoor meets. Kinda sounds like somebody else i know.

I was at the meet and one of the BHS coaches had 41 feet marked off to the side of the pit and measured from there to his mark and it was a little more than 4 feet farther. You can try doin the math, i already failed that class.

I just personally find it hard to believe that someone would go from 42'10" to mid 45', especially when he's been doing it all year. Maybe it would be easier to believe too if Stein didn't have such a large fan base already on ND Preps that talked him up so much earlier.

Anybody know what happened with Laura Roesler scratching out of the mile? She was a lock for 40 points on her own - unless they think she's going to shore up a relay that significantly? Seems like a bad decision if that's the case, or was it an injury/other?

Could prove HUGE in the team chase.

Isn't she running the 100, 200, 400 and 800?

Thats what I was going to say...She is defending in those events, that is probably what she will run, although with her, South 4x400 has a chance at a state record.

Could be - I had read in the Bismarck Tribune this morning that she had the top time in the 1600, but I'm forgetting that she has the top time in everything she's run. I keep thinking they'll have to start a new race at 300 or 1200 meters so there's something for those who'll come after she graduates to strive toward setting new records in ... what a STUD!

He is actually her twin brother...not her younger brother...but he went to state and made finals so he has the talent just not like Laura! Laura is one-of-a-kind!!
