North Dakota Preps

Fargo has been issued flood warnings the week of March 22-28. Will the threat of flooding affect (even cancel?) the two state indoor meets held at the NDSU fieldhouse? Or is that northern part of Fargo on high enough ground that it is in a relatively "safe" zone?

There is NO way that those meets will get cancelled!! The river is supposed to crest about 38 feet on Saturday (pending this storm today through Tuesday), plus there are so many dikes going up on the streets along the river that it would have to take a lot to get above them (like 42 feet water). I see the meets being held as scheduled!

the tribune said the river was supposed to crest 22 ft above the flood levels. fargo schools were off to help sandbag today also. i was told that they would probably move the meet back a week before canceling it though. also taylor stein will win all of his events.

the state jv meet on this saturday has been cancelled

there seems to be no way that there will be either meet this weekend. Many of the schools in the eastern half of the state have been battling flood waters and there are no practices being held for many of those schools for safety reasons and sandbagging efforts!

Anyone have any updates on wether or not their will be a meet at the Fargo indoor this weekend? Im assuming not

Both meets have been postponed and no dates have been determined at this time!!

You know it's bad outside when indoor track meets are getting cancelled haha

supposed to be an indoor meet at Concordia on Monday....with the campus shutting down and water and utils gone......I'm sure that one's cancelled too.

I am pretty sure that neither the State Indoor meets or the Maple River Meet (@ Concordia on Monday) will be made up either because of the extended time of the river being up!

Anyone have an idea when the Randy Huether or Wild Rice meets in Whapeton will be made up? Or if they will be made up at all?

I will have final results in the next few days for all events. I can tell you that Milnor-Wyndmere-Lidgerwood's girls got 1st and Oak Grove's girls were 2nd about 40 points difference (MWL 194, OG 153.33). The boys team title was won by Oak Grove with 172 points and I believe that it was about a 60 point difference between them and 2nd place Milnor-Wyndmere-Lidgerwood.

Yep you're right it was Jerry Kroshus of Kindred at 50'3" in 1984

Mauch has the outdoor at 53' 11.75" in 1974 though I bet Drevlow can beat that as well
