There were no warped truths. I could break my paragraph down sentence by sentence, and you won't find any. I'll just use my example of speed over form. Taylor Bruhschwein beat Ryan Todhunter in 300 hurdles, even though Todhunter had vastly superior form, just because Bruhschwein is faster. I beat (throw in x runner) because I am faster, even though (throw in x runner) has vastly superior form.

If I was the type of person that always had to say, "I told you so," I would have found every post in the basketball forums that entailed how bad I was and how bad my team was, but, that did not happen.

I did not chew you out for using the word hopefully. However, you stated that that part of your paragraph doesn't matter, so I will leave it at that.

I do not have to doubt myself, but, when someone else doubts me, I will back up what I have to say with FACTS. I didn't skip over that part. My 2nd post was not sarcasm. That was to be taken on a literal level. I am not arguing with everyone just for the sake of arguing, I would put this argument up if someone said that I would beat Todhunter. I am arguing because I have no problem with my opinion being heard. A person is entitled to their opinion that I will lose to Nathan Magstadt, but, I am also entitled to my opinion that I won't. The only different is that I can actually effect whether or not my opinion becomes fact. I do listen to what others say, and I have thrown in friendly opinions, and I have found it necessary to comment on being told that I lost to Lee Greuel last year. I am fairly modest with my posts, in the 1499 that I have, I would venture to say that less than 20 of them are directly about me, and when they are about me, mostly in the basketball forum, they are something a long the lines of, "Andrew Crosby is a much better player than I," or "I don't have a chance (of winning Mr. Basketball). I'm not even the best player on my team." Again, I am just realistic. If I am better than someone at something, I have no problem admitting it, and if I am worse, I have no problem admitting it. If it is close, I always give the nod to the other person.

This is directly to you, Thirty, if some person comes on a website and tells you that people have not beat you, or even had a close race with you, are going to beat you, are you more likely to say, "I have no intention of losing," or, "If I work my hardest I hope I can be successful, but the other hurdlers are very good, and even though I have not had close races with them, I think they have a good chance of beating me."?

If you truly think I am the type of person to always have to say, "I told you so," ask Qvale, Eiken, Oyloe, or some other person from Williston that knows me, or has talked to me, and tell me what you find out.

I support Jordan Maurer aka Kadafi in his quest for an undefeated wda season in the 110m hurdles.

Well, I think I would be somewhere in between there, I don't think I would say that I am 100% sure that I will win, because on the off chance that I would be wrong, I would have to eat my words. Which I think we can agree that nobody likes to do. I think that it's hard to know what I would say unless I was in the actual situation, and I'm not head and shoulders above everyone at anything really, so I probably won't be in that situation ever. I would rather be not wrong than right, if that makes any sense. I would rather not say anything and not risk the embarrassment of being wrong, than saying what I think and then be ridiculed later. And looking at the current situation, I probably shouldn't have even posted, since I don't really have enough passion for the topic to drag it on any longer. I admit defeat, balla45, you are right, you are just stating facts, and I was wrong to dispute your posts.

Nobody likes to eat their words, I completely agree. I understand what you are saying in rather being not wrong than right, I just don't think the same way that you do. I was just stating facts, but you have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to mine. No harm, no foul.

I predict Ryan Toddhunter breaks the state record in the 110 hurdles. Anyone agree or disagree?

Agreed, he has 0 competition in the 110's. I would have to think the same in the 3's. He has gone sub 39, and I don't think anyone else went sub 40. I think Briggs, Weiser, Davis, and Greuel will have an interesting battle for second. I have to give Briggs the advantage, because racing against Toddhunter all year will prove to be a huge advantage.

I think we just reached the max for talk on the two hurdles, they have been thuroughly discussed and i just wasted 30 minutes of my life i can never have back reading those posts and feel dumber for it :D Look out for the WF kid in the shot... I saw him at state last year and with his speed and quickness along with strength he should give qvale a run for his money, i think he mammenga threw 56 at an indoor meet.

I honestly see Todhunter breaking the state record about mid-season. Too bad he has no one to run against who can push him, or we could see even better times.

yeah, but hes used to running by himself in the hurdles this year, he has to push himself, because he has won every hurdle race and none of them have been close

OK I read this thread a while back and I thought I remember Maurer predicting he'd win the the 110h. I thought he made a comment to the extent nobody beat him last year and he didn't think anyone would beat him this year. Now this Todhunter guy is running like 14.3s. Did he just come out of no where?

No he predicted he would go undefeated in the wda. (Toddhunter ran a 14.1x last year and everyone knows he is number 1). I'll have to give mauer props for coming through on his words. I think his best competition in the wda will come from Tate Carlson from jamestown who ran 15.5x into a headwind at the shanley legion meet yesterday

It did make sense for a while actually. Someone got a little to sensitive and edited it. Originally "P4kNBD" called "thetruthhurts" a struggle up. I didnt see anything really inappropriate about that post, just gave me a chuckle.
