Class B Track and Field

Postby bluelagoon » Wed Dec 17, 2008 12:21 am

Many of the track and field posts focus on Class A's elite. How about Class B? Any thoughts on individuals or teams for the upcoming 2009 campaign?

Easton Page as a distant runner from Carrington looks pretty good. He played baseball the last two years but was all state this year in his first year of cross country.

In the field

Girls Shot: Kali Hook from Griggs, Olivia Johnson from Richland are the top 2 returning. Hook is around 40 feet Johnson around 38 ft.

Girls Disc: Hillary Bircham from Lisbon is the best returning she threw 115 in the state meet. Other than that it looks like disc may be a bit down.

Girls Jav: Alex Webster is defending state champ at 128, Sara Jensen of LMM is in the 120 - 130 range. I would bet my money on Jaime Drevlow of North Sargenthad several throws in the mid 130's last year but had a bad state meet. I know she is trying to to 145 -150 this year.

In reality she has the strength to do all 3 events well but since there is no throwing coach at North Sargent she has to figure things out for herself.

Boys Shot: Ryan Drevlow of North Sargent and Kodell Wolfe of Harvey are the top 2 returning, both were in the low to mid 50's last year. Drevlow wants to try and get 60 this year

Boys Disc: Alex Gebhard of Edgely-Kulm and Ross MArtel of Whishek are two of the top returners, but at about 150. Krdell Wolfe is also up there

Boys Jav: Kordell Wolfe, Tyler Lalim of Williams CO. and Ryan Drevlow are all in the mid 180's and should compete for a state title
