Its going to be really close between BHS and DHS.

I'll take DHS.  I would guess they will stack their team in an effort to win the event, while BHS may, or may not.

I hate to quote myself, but wasn't that 1600M Relay fun to watch.  Dickinson has a history of solid 1/4 milers.  It's kind of amazing that some of the previous DHS teams hadn't run better.  Depending on many factors, it will be interesting to see if the same relay team (all underclassmen) can run faster in 2007?

That team will run under 3.20.00! Im guessing that Dickinson's 1600mRelay will be taking 1st for a couple years now.

i totally disagree with that statement. there would be so many track all-staters. it should only be the top 5 in each event. i love track. yipee. im always right

For all-american status in college track the top 8 in each event are allowed.   This is not a team sport and it is much more obvious who the all-state selections should be.  That being said I agree with the top 8.

I said track is not a team sport.  IT IS A SPORT!

I know there are relays, but I don't think team chemistry or anything of that nature have a great deal to do with the outcome.  Can an individual win the state meet?  Can two people win the state meet?

so how many kids does it take to make a team? If two girls can almost win Class B state, isnt that a team?

and you don't think there is chemistry in track? relay's require great chemistry and 'team' work.

The two of us could hand a stick back and forth, and I don't even know you.  I will defer to the fact that one person can win the state title.

I think I will name my first born male after you

hey buddy, obviously you've never been in track. Relays take so much chemistry its almost unbelievable. Plus 2 guys can win a championship....look at the history buddy.

If two people can win the state title I would bet that they weren't on any relay teams.  Thus no team concept required.  Do you work on the relay exchange every day of practice?  Does your coach ask that you go to team camps in the off-season?

Track is an individual sport that they try to add a team concept to like wrestling.  You can be successful as an individual but they add the points to make a team concept so that the individuals that aren't as successful still have a purpose.

I seem to remember that in Montana in the late 80's early 90's that a single person won the state meet.  I'll have to do some research on that.

Todd Riech from Hot Springs, MT.  I haven't been able to determine if he was the only person on the team but he did score every point for his team.

Hot Springs MT won the 1989 state C in track.  He won the 100, 200, 400, Intermeadiate Hurdles and the Javelin.

Bowman always seems to come up with some good runners.

ever notice their Cross Country record?  The girls have placed in several events at State and they only lost one runner.

they will be fun to watch and they have a great new coach this year.
